Emmerdale star James Chase has hinted at another chapter to come for the Tom King story after he shared a video this week from the eponymous village.
Tom, as viewers know, is currently behind bars after breaking his bail conditions in the wake of his arrest for coercive control and domestic abuse towards wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
The storyline in question is set to reach its end this month, with a trial for the abuser due to air next week.
The outcome of the storyline remains under wraps, though fans are hoping that justice will finally be served – and that Tom will pay for his crimes.
Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen but it seems there might be more story to unfold, with star James Chase having appeared on the set of the ITV soap earlier this week.
The soap star started a video on his Instagram Stories as he took a stroll around the village.
As fans know, Emmerdale films a number of weeks in advance, so if James is recording new scenes then they likely won’t hit screens until early next year, which means there could be more to come for Tom King after all.
Does this mean that he manages to lie his way into obtaining his freedom? Or could it simply be that Tom is behind bars and that he receives another visitor in prison?
We’ll just have to wait and see.
Scenes set to air next week will see Tom rushed to hospital after he attempts to take his own life. Belle spirals upon learning the news, fearing that his d.e.a.t.h would be on her hands.
Determined to support Belle, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) gains access to Tom’s hospital room and orders the sick abuser to tell everyone that he staged the attempt on his own life to turn the trial on its head.
But Tom believes that her presence in the hospital is proof that Belle won’t be at court – and therefore he prepares to deliver the performance of a lifetime for the jury.
Will he get away with his crimes? Or will justice finally be served?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
