BBC Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise Dᴇᴀᴛʜ shock as star confirms they’re being ‘k.i.l.l.e.d off’
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise is making a return to our TV screens this festive season for a star-studded Christmas special and in true style it will begin with a gripping m.u.r.d.e.r
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise fans can expect a shock exit as one star has confirmed that they’re being ‘killed off’. The BBC hit show is making a return to our TV screens this festive season for a star-studded Christmas special. Among the cast is comedian Marcus Brigstocke, who has taken on the role of holiday maker Stuart Fullwell.
The series will begin in true Dᴇᴀᴛʜ In Paradise style, with a m.u.r.d.e.r and unfortunately Marcus’ character is the victim.
Fresh from performing karaoke dressed as Santa, Stuart is found shot d.e.a.d on the beach by a young boy called Ollie, and the Saint Marie police team are called into action.
But with no Detective Inspector in place of the recently departed Neville Parker, the race is on to handle such a big case.
During an appearance on BBC Morning Live on Thursday morning, Marcus opened up on how he felt after landing the role.
Speaking to hosts, Jacqui Jospeh and Gordon Smart, he went on to say: “Obviously I was thrilled because I know that Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise have been looking for the new detective so when the call came I instantly called Rachel my wife and said I’m pretty sure we are going to be moving to Guadalupe for six months out of the year.”
The star had hoped to become a regular face on the series however it was soon revealed that that wasn’t going to be the case.
Marcus revealed: “It was quickly made clear to me that I was going to be k.i.l.l.e.d off but I was still over the moon. It’s a beautiful, brilliant, funny and engaging show. It’s so fun to do.”
Jacqui jumped in and joked: “Hold on you said you get the chop, I hear you were singing so was itbecause of that.”
Everyone burst out laughing as Marcus replied: “Well I was interested in the clip you showed but they didn’t show any of my karaoke and I don’t know for sure but my guess is that it will be released as a Christmas single.”
He added: “I doubt they would have killed me because of my singing because I think it’s going to be a big hit and I see a big shift in my career.”
BBC Morning Live airs from 9.30 on BBC One and iPlayer
