Yolande Trueman struggles to cope with another bombshell about Pastor Clayton in EastEnders
She continues to push her family away
YOLANDE Trueman is set to receive yet another bombshell about Pastor Clayton in EastEnders.
As we approach the special BBC One Christmas episodes, the long-running character is struggling to cope with her past trauma.
Angela Wynter, 67, first joined the soap in 2003 but she’s been at the centre of a major storyline this year on EastEnders after her comeback last year.
She struck up a friendship with Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler), before he started behaving inappropriately towards her.
Just as he earned her trust, she was then s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y assaulted by the fictional religious figure.
Struggling in Walford, she reported him to the police but was devastated when he took ʜɪs ᴏᴡɴ ʟɪꜰᴇ.
Back in October, she was told that he committed suicide before he could face justice in court.
But as we approach the holiday season Yolande continues to feel the after effects as she pushes away her relatives.
She will struggle emotionally as she’s set to continue to shut out both Patrick and Denise.
This is before she enters the launderette where she will engage in a tense exchange with Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie).
However, Patrick will remind her that she’s so self consumed by her emotions, she’s forgotten a major family event.
He will point out that it is the anniversary of the death of his son Paul (Gary Beadle), who was murdered off-screen.
As they unite in grief, the pair will make amends with each other before Yolande makes way to church.
It’s Christmas Eve and it’s also the day of the burial ceremony for Pastor Clayton.
She is set to come face-to-face and meet some other women who were also a.s.s.a.u.l.t.e.d by the corrupt priest.
Although all the women still feel traumatised, Yolande will feel buoyed by her experience.
She will feel relieved and is set to leave the experience having rediscovered her faith.
As such, she will then head to the community Centre to help out those in need.
EastEnders continues to air on BBC One and iPlayer.
