EastEnders finally ‘confirms’ Christmas Day d.e.a.t.h after huge speculation
EastEnders seems to have finally confirmed a major Christmas Day death, after huge speculation from fans.
In 2022, the Christmas Day episode saw Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) dive into the freezing ocean to save Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), only he never resurfaced.
Mick was presumed dead after being missing for several months, though fans are well aware that in soap if you don’t see the body then there is every possibility the character isn’t really d.e.a.d!
Unfortunately, it appears that that rule may not apply for Mick, as the BBC soap appears to have finally confirmed his d.e.a.t.h.
In a YouTube compilation showcasing the most dramatic Christmas Day deaths, Mick’s final moments were included.
EastEnders fans were quick to argue in the comments that Mick couldn’t be dead, with one saying: ‘Er… Mick isn’t d.e.a.d. We all know it.’
‘EastEnders.. we all know at this present moment.. Mick is technically alive.. as we didn’t see his body.. it’s the same with ALL “D.e.a.t.h.s” on EastEnders that if we don’t see the body.. they can come back,’ another pointed out.
This comes after actor Danny Dyer called for the soap to ‘bring back Mick’ at the National Television Awards earlier this year.
With countless familiar faces having returned in the past year ahead of the show’s 40th anniversary, fans are still hoping there is a chance for the loveable landlord.
However, in a chat with Metro, Danny confirmed that his serial drama days are well and truly behind him, and he wasn’t looking to join any other soaps either.
