Emmerdale icon addresses claims she has quit and denies ‘mistreatment’
Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly has addressed the recent claims she is leaving the show after being ‘mistreated’ by a producer.
The star, who arrived as Ruby Fox-Miligan at the start of this year, often shares updates on her life on her Instagram.
Over the weekend, Beth returned to her social media platform to post a video after it became apparent to her that a ‘fake news article’ was circulating, which stated she’s set to leave the ITV soap.
The star decided to post a response on her Instagram, confirming she isn’t actually going anywhere.
‘Loads of people keep contacting me and saying, “Oh I hear you’re leaving the show”. There’s some sort of fake news article going round saying all sorts of stuff. For the record, if I’m allowed to say this, I’m not leaving the show at the moment – as far as I know – I’m having a really lovely time’, she said.
‘I adore my job, and I definitely don’t feel I’ve been mistreated by any producers. I’m being treated very well and I’m having a lovely time.’
Since her arrival, Ruby has become a hugely loved character among the Emmerdale fanbase.
In a relationship with Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Ruby’s life in the village was shaken a few weeks ago when her daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) arrived, quickly followed by Ruby’s dad Anthony (Nicholas Day).
Ruby was incredibly on edge around Anthony, but it was only a few days ago we came to understand why.
In a serious of flashback scenes, we met a 16-year-old Ruby at her birthday party. She was friends with a lad called Rob, who Anthony wanted Ruby to date.
After Ruby’s friends left the house party, Anthony returned to her room and revealed her mum had gone out.
In a horrifying scene, it was then confirmed Anthony had been s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abusing Ruby, and she’s kept the ordeal a secret ever since.
