BBC EastEnders Christmas d.e.a.t.h ‘solved’ after ‘leak’ – and it’s not Linda
EastEnders viewers are predicting someone will d.i.e this Christmas on the BBC soap amid Linda Carter's fate being revealed, after an apparent script leak weeks ago
Fans are convinced there’s an EastEnders death looming this Christmas.
But amid a special episode featuring Linda Carter, she could have been ruled out. Rumours of a d.e.a.t.h first emerged after reports a cast member had left their scripts on the train.
With them found by a member of the public, they were apparently read – while nothing has been given away. But the person who recovered the scripts claimed there were huge twists ahead, with reports they were for the Christmas episodes – with a major death also “leaked”.
The BBC did not comment on the reports, with nothing confirmed. This week we saw tragedy play out onscreen as Linda died amid her alcoholism battle.
After funeral scenes had been filmed months ago, it was finally confirmed it was Linda’s funeral. That said, it turned out that it was all a ‘dream’ and a glimpse to the future, if Linda carried on drinking.
So Linda seems to have been ruled out as the d.e.a.t.h, and it’s still not clear whether the fake death was the one apparently leaked in the scripts. Viewers are convinced it’s a separate demise though, and that this Christmas will see a major character die.

Sharing their thoughts on social media, viewers speculated that recent health woes for Ian Beale could see him killed off on Christmas Day just as his partner Cindy Beale’s affair is exposed. Other fans speculated Martin Fowler will die, amid his young son Roman’s health battle.
Then there’s soap legend Phil Mitchell who has sparked exit fears amid a sad new storyline. One viewer theorised: “Tonight’s episode makes me think Martin.” Another agreed: “If it’s Martin I will throw hands. One of four original characters left.”
A third theory read: “But could be Ian, heart attack from all the drama on Christmas Day.” A fourth fan posted: “It’ll be Junior. Whodunnit, Cindy George or Ian. Possibly Peter.”
Another fan said: “Phil Mitchell dies because he is leaving the square.” Others were unsure whether there was a death at all, as someone asked: “Is it confirmed someone is d.y.i.n.g?”
One fan replied: “I don’t think we do know that. Lots of foreshadowing that she still might be.” Another fan said: “No one, the rumour about an Xmas d.e.a.t.h came from the script left on a train that was given to The Sun, but that script was for 7th January 2025.” Viewers will just have to stay tuned to find out if anyone does d.i.e!
