EastEnders ‘confirms’ who will expose Cindy and Junior – and it’s not Kojo
Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) got the upper hand over rival Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in Thursday’s EastEnders – but there was danger ahead for the expectant mum as a fire started at her flat.
The two characters have been locked in a pact after Lauren discovered Cindy was somehow involved in Kojo Asare’s (Dayo Koleosho) recent accident.
Worried that if Lauren were to uncover the full truth about Kojo’s fall it could lead to her affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) being exposed, Cindy began supplying p.a.i.n.k.i.l.l.e.r-a.d.d.i.c.t.e.d Lauren with pills to keep her sweet.
However, Cindy called off their deal earlier this week when she found out Lauren was pregnant, issuing her with an ultimatum to tell her partner Peter Beale (Thomas Law) about her addiction.
On Thursday, Lauren sought to dig up dirt on Cindy after finding out Kojo had been released from hospital.
Speaking to Kojo’s brother George Knight (Colin Salmon) at The Vic, Lauren learned that Kojo has been refusing to open up since returning home.
Telling George she’d been given some coping mechanisms following her ordeal in the club crush earlier this year, Lauren offered to share the techniques with Kojo, giving her an excuse to go upstairs and speak with him.
She soon learned that Cindy had threatened Kojo in hospital, telling him that if he was to reveal the truth about his accident, he would cause trouble and be sent back to Ghana.
While Kojo would not give her any more details, Lauren was buoyed when she then bumped into Cindy downstairs, revealing she knew she was hiding a massive secret.
Realising the need to keep Lauren on side, Cindy then supplied her with more p.i.l.l.s to keep her quiet – but will Lauren find out the truth and expose Cindy’s affair with Junior?
That all depends on if Lauren survives to the end of the week, however, as after she headed home and took more p.i.l.l.s, she fell asleep unaware that a fire had started in her flat… Will she get out alive?
