At the conclusion of series 13, viewers bid farewell to DI Neville Parker, portrayed by Ralf Little, as he departed with DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) at his side.
The forthcoming 14th series will introduce a new detective, DI Mervin Wilson, played by actor Don Gilet, injecting some fresh vitality into the show following Little’s four-year tenure.
Don Gilet is perhaps most recognised for his roles as Lucas Johnson in EastEnders, DS Nicky Cole in 55 Degrees North and Jesse Law in Holby City.
As anticipated, familiar faces will be accompanying Mervin, including Don Warrington as The Commissioner, Shantol Jackson as Naomi, Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine, Ginny Holder as Darlene and Danny John-Jules as Dwayne.
Regrettably, actress Jobert has already announced that she will not be reprising her role as Florence after her character and Neville left Saint Marie.
As per tradition, each episode will welcome a host of guest stars to the sandy shores, and the Christmas special is no exception.
Joining the regular cast for the festive episode are Angela Griffin from The Wives, Steven Hartley from Happy Valley, Michael Salami from Supacell, Dex Lee from Doctors and Jim Howick from Ghosts.
