Two Emmerdale icons could be about to plan wedding number two, 25 years after they first wed and 23 years after their divorce, with spoilers teasing an engagement
Emmerdale could be lining up wedding number two for a couple, two decades after they first tied the knot in the 90s.
There’s a possible engagement on the cards next week, as spoilers tease a couple may take the next step. But it was 25 years ago that the very same couple got married, before divorcing one another two years later.
Now, Emmerdale legends Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk could tie the knot once more, as it’s teased they may get engaged. While it’s not confirmed if all goes to plan, the pair do look to the future in upcoming scenes.
It comes amid rocky scenes for the pair, with Paddy repeatedly letting his new, and old, partner down. From failing to stand up for her against a vile business associate and even blaming her for him storming out of an event, to him cheating on her by kissing ex Chas Dingle, Paddy has not been treating Mandy right.
Paddy’s pals encourage him to sweep Mandy off her feet, and put his feelings out there in an attempt to stop them splitting for good. Mandy is still hurt over recent events, while it’s clear she still loves Paddy after their rekindled romance decades after their wedding.

Amelia Spencer treats Mandy to a makeover, getting her dressed up fairytale style. Soon Paddy appears ready to fight for Mandy’s heart as he approaches the salon but he bottles it, and can’t bring himself to be honest.
Mandy’s finally dressed up and ready in her Cinderella outfit in the salon, and she makes her way out into the village. The pair soon bump into each other, and Paddy makes a grand gesture in a bid to prove Mandy is the woman for him.
It looks like Paddy and Mandy might get their fairytale ending after all, when Paddy gets down on one knee and proposes to her. But after everything they’ve been through past and present, will it be enough and will she say yes?

Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out what her answer is and whether wedding bells will hit the village. Back in the 90s, Mandy and Paddy’s marriage came to an end after she had an affair with her college lecturer, with Mandy soon leaving the village and not returning until 2019.
This wouldn’t be Mandy’s first wedding, with her marrying Butch Dingle, her cousin, in the 90s before wedding Paddy shortly after. She was due to wed her partner Paul Ashdale in 2021, only for him to be killed in an explosion on her wedding day, while he was exposed to be abusing his son Vinny Dingle in the same episode.
