Emmerdale’s Ella Forster (Paula Lane) continued to add fuel to the fire last night as speculation she could be linked to twisted killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) persisted.
The doctor’s surgery receptionist first arrived in the ITV soap earlier this year, striking up friendships with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
She cemented herself as a goodie when defending the latter, who was being scorned by Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) for breastfeeding in The Woolpack.
Since then, she’s flirted with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) as they bonded over a love of houseplants and clashed with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Her apparent feud with Manpreet is currently bubbling away under the surface, which has led some fans to wonder whether she has an ulterior motive for moving to the eponymous village.
After all, nobody arrives in Emmerdale just to be nice – they always have a hidden agenda!
Some fans have questioned whether she is related in some way to Manpreet’s evil sister Meena, who wreaked havoc for the residents when she killed Liam’s daughter Leanna (Mimi Slinger), Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) and Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon).
She’d also murdered two people prior to moving to the Dales.
The speculation of Ella’s motives surrounding Meena were sparked when she took great interest in the time she held Dawn and husband Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) at gunpoint on top of a viaduct on their wedding day.
The conversation began when news had reached the village about Tom and Belle King’s (James Chase and Eden Taylor-Draper) disastrous nuptials.
In last night’s (21st March) episode, Liam asked mate Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) on his opinion of workplace relationships, and when he said that Ella wasn’t a ‘psycho’, Cain said to get on board.
But this off the cuff comment has sent fans into a frenzy on X/Twitter once again, with many thinking that Cain’s comment was tempting fate.

Whatever the situation is with Ella, the show is dropping hints aplenty, with a round on famous serial killers raising an eyebrow in the pub.
