Emmerdale star Danny Miller has admitted his character Aaron Dingle is feeling ‘aggressive’ and out for revenge ahead of paedophile Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) m.u.r.d.e.r.

Aaron will become one of the suspects when Anthony is shot in forthcoming scenes after his heinous crimes catch up with him.

As viewers know, evil Anthony sexually abused daughter Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) as a child, and since arriving in the village, he has been slowly tormenting her in her own home.

While Ruby has been harbouring the secret for years, more people will soon find out the truth will soon come out, which results in Anthony’s death, sparking a ‘whodunnit?’

When Aaron hears that Anthony is a sexual predator, he is reminded about his own abuse at the hands of his father Gordon Livesy (Gerard Fletcher), and directs his anger about his trauma at Ruby’s dad.

Danny explains: ‘He is instantly aggressive and destined for revenge, for Ruby, of course, but he sees his chance to level with Gordon who took “the coward’s way out” as Aaron calls it – killing himself in prison.

‘He sees an opportunity to hand over Gordon (in Anthony) to the police – who will then serve his sentence in prison and give Ruby the justice she a) deserves and b) never had the chance of having himself.’

He continued: ‘I think it’s pure disgust and dread as to how he’ll deal with this and bringing back so many evil and dark memories for Aaron that he’d suppressed for so many years.’

As well as Aaron, there are several other key suspects in the frame for Anthony’s murder, including Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and Ruby herself.

Asked about what his character’s motives for attacking Anthony would be, Danny added:  ‘Having experienced the same abuse and disgusting acts and never really got the justice he deserved or that Gordon (his Dad) deserved – the motive is there in plain sight!’

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
