‘Eastenders’ road rage spat spirals into ‘good old fashioned bare knuckle’ brawl
A pair of men were filmed having a road rage row in the middle of a busy street - one tried to take down the other with a martial arts move in an EastEnders-style spat
Two blokes were caught in a road rage scrap in the middle of a bustling street, likened to a scene straight out of EastEnders. One attempted to floor the other with a martial arts manoeuvre.
A moped was spotted toppled over in the centre of the road as the pair traded blows. One of the men, decked out in hi-vis trousers and jacket, clutched his opponent’s clothes as they tussled.
His adversary, clad in dark attire, did the same. Both took a swing at each other, with one taunting: “Come on then.”
A white flat-bed lorry was also obstructing Old Ford Road, in Bethnal Green, east London on Thursday, January 16. The incident was likened to a real-life episode of BBC soap EastEnders. Other men stepped in to try and defuse the situation.
A white taxi tried to navigate past the lorry and scooter blocking its path. One of the men claimed: “He spat on me as well. He spat on me.”
The man in the hi-vis then attempted to trip his rival by sweeping his legs from under him.
The one-minute-and-thirty-second video, filmed by a shocked bystander, then concluded, as reported on NeedToKnow. Locals expressed their astonishment at the road rage dispute.
One remarked: “Much better than using knives and machetes to sort out their argument.”
Jordan James commented: “A good old fashioned English scene. Two local men have a bare knuckle to settle their differences.”
Another quipped: “Real life ‘EastEnders’ scenes.”
A fourth jested: “Should’ve put his hips into that sweep.”
The Met Police has been approached for comment.
