BBC EastEnders Ian Beale’s chilling real plan ‘exposed’ after fans spot ‘major clue’
EastEnders fans have spotted a worrying clue about Ian Beale's real motives towards Cindy
EastEnders stalwart Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, has sparked worry among fans that he’s plotting a dark revenge on his unfaithful ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
Cindy recently emerged from a coma after being assaulted by an unknown assailant on Christmas Day. She was left in a critical condition following a blow to the head with a snow shovel, and her attacker remains unidentified.
Peter Beale (Thomas Law) attempted to secure accommodation for his mother upon her discharge from hospital, as Ian refused to welcome her back home. Reiss Colwell (Johnny Freeman) stepped up, offering Cindy the spare room at Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) residence while she faces a murder trial.
However, Cindy’s return stirred up more trouble when a brick, attached with a threatening note for her, was hurled through the window.
On Monday (January 20), a terrified Cindy struggled to cope, fearing someone is trying to kill her. Following the brick incident, Reiss asked her to leave, using Sonia’s impending return as a pretext, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Concerned for his mother, Peter prompted Ian to visit Cindy. When she refused to open the door, Ian feigned chest pain to trick her into letting him in. Ian relayed Peter’s concerns to Cindy, who confessed she didn’t know who to trust anymore.
He persuaded her to go for a walk, but their trip to The Vic for a drink ended abruptly when the Knights gave Cindy a cold shoulder, forcing them to leave the pub with Ian coming to her defence.
She then popped the question to Ian, suggesting they leg it to the South of France as they’d once dreamed, before her naughty fling with Junior Knight (played by Micah Balfour) came to light.
Ian wasn’t having any of it, but he did throw Cindy a lifeline, saying she could shack up with him for a bit. She was all over that offer like a rash, thanking him for his knight-in-shining-armour act.
“I’ll always protect you,” Ian whispered, pulling Cindy in close. But then he cracked a sly grin, setting tongues wagging that he might be the dark horse who’s been giving Cindy grief.
On social media platform X, one eagle-eyed fan posted: “Ian hasn’t quite got the knack of the subtle smile when no one’s watching. Erupts into more of a joker-esque grin # EastEnders.”
Another viewer couldn’t help but chuckle: “Ian using his chest pains to get into the house and his proud grin afterwards has me creased #EastEnders.”
A third fan predicted trouble: “Ian in his evil era incoming #EastEnders”, while another echoed Ian’s words with a twist: “Ian to Cindy : I’ll always protect you #EastEnders”, slapping on a pic of the Joker for good measure.
One more fan joined in the banter: “That smirk Ian did when Cindy hugged him she can move back in with him #EastEnders”, followed by a cackle.
