Emmerdale star Georgia Jay has hinted at big scenes to come as she encourages viewers to keep watching.

The actress, who plays Steph Miligan, took to Instagram to share a picture of her in character, asking that viewers ‘stay tuned’ to the ITV soap.

The message triggered responses from a number of fans, who sympathised with character Steph following recent developments, while co-star Beth Cordingly – who plays her mum Ruby Fox-Miligan – branded the accompanying photograph ‘beautiful’.

The two stars have been at the centre of a major storyline this past month, with Ruby discovering that Steph’s father isn’t Caleb (William Ash).

The character was s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abused by her own father Anthony (Nicholas Day) when she was 16 years old, meaning that the abuser is the biological father.

Earlier this month, Ruby resolved to find out once and for all as to whether or not Steph was Anthony’s biological child but, upon seeing her daughter bonding with Caleb, she decided to rip the DNA test up.

Little did she know, however, that Caleb had already found the document in her handbag.

Ruby rushed back home, where a heartbroken Caleb confronted her on the situation as the document confirmed that he’s not Steph’s father.

Caleb initially ordered Ruby out, believing that she had cheated on him, but when he discovered what she went through, he was apologetic.

Steph, meanwhile, has no idea that Anthony is her father, with Caleb and Ruby adamant that she must never find out.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
