Fans have grown concerned for Rhona’s future in the Emmerdale village.

It is clear Rhona – who is played by Zoe Henry – has been struggling after Gus returned to say he wanted to have Ivy back full time. She has been out of sorts since she found out Gus had stolen the embryos that he and her had froze when they were together in the past.

He ended up having baby Ivy with his wife, but in tragic scenes, she died during childbirth, leaving Gus unable to cope. Gus then decided to take some time away from the village, with Rhona only happy to have Ivy with her.

However, he has been feeling better since and is adamant now that he wants to have her back for good, leaving Rhona very conflicted. Rhona was horrified when she learned that Gus planned to move to France with Ivy.

Spoilers though have confirmed that Gus will ask Rhona and Marlon to look after the baby for the day, giving them a chance to say goodbye properly. However, Rhona is broken by this and obviously not ready to say goodbye.

When Marlon returns home, he finds Rhona and Ivy missing as well as their belongings. Marlon tells Mary that Rhona has taken off with Ivy, but what has happened and will this be the last time we see Rhona?

Is Rhona leaving Emmerdale?

Zoe Henry has been on Emmerdale for years now and has become a fan favourite on the ITV soap. She is married to Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, but could this be the last time we see her in the village?

Rhona is clearly struggling with all that’s gone on. Speaking about the big scenes, she said yesterday: “I do get this, I’m not saying I would do it, but in tomorrow’s episode she ends up running off with the baby, but I kind of get it. It’s that kind of primal panic of ‘this is my child and you’re going to take her to France and I’m never going to see her again’, so something kicks in.”

Ivy could also spell trouble for couple Marlon and Rhona. She shared of how it affects their relationship: “If you’d asked me that a month ago I’d have said: ‘Absolutely not, he’d be walking out the door’. But having read the scripts that we’re currently shooting, I think Marlon would have Rhona’s back. Obviously Marlon softens towards Ivy because she’s a baby and he’s very good with her, but I think he knows how much Rhona supported him through his stroke. He can’t not think about that.

“I think Marlon knows that if he wants his marriage to survive, he’s probably got to support Rhona. He really is in love with that little baby as well by this point. He’s absolutely fallen head over heels in love with Ivy, which is a really lovely twist.”
