Emmerdale ‘to bring back’ Dales favourite in huge Anthony Fox twist and they are not alone
Emmerdale fans are convinced that a beloved character could be set to make a return to the village, following the d.e.a.t.h of Anthony Fox - and Ruby Fox-Miligan will be stunned
Emmerdale fans are speculating about a potential surprise return for a beloved character in an unexpected twist involving Anthony Fox.
Anthony, played by Nicholas Day, made his first appearance on the soap last year as Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) estranged father.
As he settled into village life, Ruby began to unravel, hinting at a hidden secret about her father. It was later revealed that Anthony had s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abused Ruby when she was 14 and was also the biological father of Ruby’s daughter Steph (Georgia Jay), not Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
After Anthony’s horrific crimes were exposed last week, several villagers sought revenge, with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) violently attacking Anthony at the local depot, his actions fuelled by his own past abuse. Believing he had k.i.l.l.e.d Anthony, a distraught Aaron confided in John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who quickly stepped in to help.
They returned to the depot where John checked Anthony’s pulse and confirmed to Aaron that he was dead. John then disposed of Anthony’s body, while Aaron grappled with the guilt of thinking he had committed m.u.r.d.e.r.
However, it was later revealed that it was Ruby who delivered the fatal blow. Amidst all the drama unfolding in the village, fans have noted the conspicuous absence of Caleb and Ruby’s other child Nicky (Lewis Cope), reports Leicestershire Live.
Nicky first graced our screens in 2022 but decided to leave two years later in 2024, alongside his partner Suni (played by Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana). However, with the recent passing of his grandfather Anthony stirring emotions, fans are buzzing with speculation that Nicky might just make a surprise comeback.
On Reddit, discussions have heated up, with one user posting: “I would love to have nicky back and see how he and Stephanie would get on with each other. Does anyone agree with me.”
Another added their voice saying, “I’m so desperate for him back.” While yet another fan shared: “He was a good character.” Meanwhile, over on another forum, criticisms about the newcomer Steph were rampant, as someone expressed, “I can’t warm to Steph. She’s really awful to her mother and treats her own mother like a child. Can she just leave, and we get Nicky back instead.”
