Tyler Perry’s Zatima | Why Was Leslie In Zac & Fatima’s Bedroom?
One of the slight— and I mean slight— missteps of the Season 3 finale was Leslie’s subplot. This applies to both episodes 19 and 20.
The whole situation with Leslie being in bed, seemingly waiting for Zac to “accidentally” jump in, just felt out of place. There was no real need for that scene in this particular season. If anything, it should have been introduced earlier rather than in the last two episodes. The transition between moments felt off.
Episode 19 ended with Fatima going, “What the—?!” Then, in the first few minutes of Episode 20, Leslie was kicked out of the house. But we never really got answers:
- How did she even get in?
- Why was she there?
- Was she the one who called Zac, pretending to be Fatima?
And what’s even stranger— Zac never questioned it! He didn’t say anything like, “But baby, I thought you called me to come home.” That never came up. Instead, they had a quick conversation about how Fatima has changed. A few weeks ago, she probably would have shot up the place!
Then— boom— we get the theme song. Next thing you know, we’re at the funeral.
It felt like that entire scene wasn’t really necessary. Why was Leslie even there? Some people speculate that she was waiting for Zac. But that doesn’t add up. Why would Fatima get in bed with someone she clearly knew wasn’t Zac— and a woman at that?
Maybe Leslie wants what she can’t have. Maybe she blames Fatima for “ruining” her marriage, since her husband constantly compares her to Fatima. Could this be her way of trying to sabotage Fatima’s relationship— just like when she showed that photo of Fatima and Malachi to Zac?
Leslie’s motives make no sense. She’s chaotic. In her mind, her actions seem logical, but to everyone else, it’s just, “What the hell are you doing?!” She seems just as unhinged as her husband.
Season 4 might give us more answers. Leslie is still around, and she’s still mimicking Fatima’s look— so things are about to get even messier.
But here’s a question:
What if Fatima hadn’t shown up? What if Zac was the one who realized Leslie wasn’t Fatima? How would she have reacted?
Honestly, I don’t think Leslie would have just left as quickly as she did. If Fatima wasn’t there, she probably would have tried to seduce Zac even harder— kind of like when Melinda got caught by Fatima back in Season 1.
