Tyler Perry's Zatima & Sistas

Tyler Perry’s Zatima | Zac ‘Left Fatima At The Altar’ By Going After Jeremiah

Okay, Z Team of fans! It’s been over a week since the last two episodes of the season dropped, and I decided to go back and highlight several scenes that stood out to me. Off the top of my head, this video is going to focus on the dinner table scene between Zach and Fatima after Leslie and Malachi left.

I believe this is from Episode 17. Let me think… yeah, it’s Episode 17, the one where Tony gets robbed at the end. But for this discussion, I’m focusing on the first seven or eight minutes of the episode.

After Malachi and Leslie leave, Zach and Fatima sit down at the dinner table for a conversation. At the end of the episode, they also have a conversation in bed, but that’s a separate discussion. I also plan to cover the scene from Episode 16 when Zach talks to Fatima in the restroom. These three moments are separate videos because, while fans loved them, I had some issues with them. I’ll explain why.

Waiting a couple of weeks to reflect on these episodes gave me the opportunity to re-evaluate everything. I took thorough notes on their conversation and am ready to break it down. Since I obviously can’t play a seven-minute clip due to copyright, I recommend rewatching the scene for context.

Recap of the Scene

After Leslie and Malachi leave, Zach is visibly upset. Fatima quickly asks, “Zach, you don’t believe I had anything to do with Malachi, right? That photo was an old photo. You really think I was at a hotel with him last week?”

Zach reassures her, “No, I’m not upset about that.”

“Then what is it?” Fatima presses.

Now, this is where I have to highlight how Zach handled the situation. Compared to past seasons, or even more recent events, Zach doesn’t drag it out like Fatima tends to do when she’s upset. Remember when he was in jail and she strung him along during their phone call? This time, Zach gets straight to the point:

“I’m upset that you let those two weirdos know where the bearer key was. And also, that you didn’t tell me about Malachi.”

Fatima responds, “Zach, I’m not going to tell you about every man who broke my heart and walked out on me.”

Zach, taken aback, reacts, “Wait, there’s a few? Whoa, okay.”

From there, Zach makes it clear: “From now on, before you have strangers all up in the house, you need to check in with me.”

Fatima apologizes, and Zach moves on. No chastising, no drawn-out lesson. He simply emphasizes that it’s their house, so they need to be on the same page.

Where the Conversation Takes a Turn

Fatima brings up Malachi again, explaining that she doesn’t like talking about her past relationships because they caused her heartbreak and even left her at the altar. Zach reassures her, “Well, I don’t blame them. Look at you. Who wouldn’t want you? But you don’t have to worry about me leaving you or breaking your heart.”

And this is where things go downhill.

Fatima counters, “Well, you did.

Zach is confused. “Wait, what? What are you talking about?”

She explains, “When you went after Jeremiah, even after I told you not to.”

This part didn’t fully hit me until now. Instead of checking on her, Zach immediately went after the person who hurt her. While I agree that Zach should have made sure Fatima was okay first, I also believe she never gave him the chance to handle things differently. She kept it from him for eight episodes, letting him find out through Nathan. That just added fuel to the fire.

Fatima tells Zach, “I need you to check on me and make sure I’m okay rather than going after the person who attacked me.”

Fair. But again, how is Zach supposed to handle something properly when he’s kept in the dark? Had she told him earlier, his first reaction might have been to rush to her side rather than explode in anger.

The Jail Issue

Zach apologizes, but when he brings up being left in jail, Fatima dismisses it completely. “No, I’m not sorry for that. You needed to learn your lesson.”

Zach is stunned. “Wait, what? Didn’t I learn it?”

“Good.”

Wow. She has no remorse for keeping him in jail longer than necessary. And on top of that, she never told Zach that his brother was actually alive!

Then, she starts pushing him to visit his brother in the hospital. “Go see him before the funeral.”

Zach pushes back. “Now you’re pushing it. I’ll let the lesson thing slide, but you’re not going to force me to see my brother.”

Fatima manipulates the situation, saying, “Oh, so you’re going to leave me again?”

That’s unfair. She’s implying that if Zach doesn’t see his brother, who might press charges, and Zach gets arrested, he’s abandoning her.

Final Thoughts

To top it all off, Fatima orders Zach to clean up the dishes before leaving. He even asks, “Don’t you want to know where I’m going?” and she just says, “No.”

This whole scene makes it feel like Zach can never win. He started the conversation upset (rightfully so), handled it directly, but then it got flipped around on him. Fatima always finds a way to remind him of his past mistakes and tell him what to do.

I did not like this scene.

Let me know your thoughts! Also, check out my other videos on the bathroom and bedroom scenes, because I have plenty to say about those too.
