‘It’s iconic’ insist Emmerdale viewers as they spot character has worn the same clothes for SEVEN years
Eagle-eyed fans say she looks like a lead in a crime thriller
EMMERDALE fans have called out an ‘iconic’ piece of wardrobe as they spot fan favourite character has worn it for seven years.
Vanessa Woodfield – who is played by actress Michelle Hardwick in the ITV soap – returned to the Dales in February after returning from Canada.
The vet came back to support her best friend Rhona, but viewers are also gripped by her on and off again relationship with Charity Dingle and hoping they get back together.
However, one fan has called out that Vanessa’s longest relationship is with her yellow raincoat which she has worn for seven years.
Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: “Vanessa has been wearing that same yellow coat for at least seven years. It’s officially iconic now, right?”
Another fan added: “She looks like a lead in one of them crime thrillers.”
A third chimed in: “That yellow coat is going to become a legacy character at this rate, one day she’ll take it off for the last time and not know.”
Meanwhile, ITV Passenger fans were surprised to see an Emmerdale villain – 12 years after his dramatic soap departure.
Viewers tuning into the drama on Sunday night noticed a familiar face.
Emmerdale actor, Tom Lister who played the infamous Carl King appeared on the show for the first time in over a decade since leaving the soap.
Tom played the iconic villain for eight years, between 2004 and 2012.
He was shockingly written off in a live episode back in 2012 – killed by serial killer Cameron Murray.
After Carl boasted about being able to make people disappear and remain untouched, Cameron hit him over the head with a brick.
The death went down as one of the most iconic in soap history, with his last words, ironically, being “because I’m indestructible.”
During Sunday night’s episode of Passenger, detective Riya’s ex-husband Nick played by Tom popped up.
His unexpected comeback shocked Riya and surprised viewers too.
Tom’s return as Nick left fans in disbelief, as many recognised him from Emmerdale.
Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: “No way! It’s Carl King.”
A second exclaimed: “Not Carl King!!!”
A third added: “Bloomin’ Carl King.”
A fourth wrote: “It’s Carl King, oh my god.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
