Emmerdale’s Rhona future hangs in the balance after court showdown with Gus
Emmerdale's Rhona Goskirk will be left feeling frustrated as her ex-partner Gus will get the better of her as they finally attend court for the kidnapping of baby Ivy
It’s an emotionally tough time for Rhona in Emmerdale next week, as she will finally face her day in court for kidnapping her daughter, Ivy.
During the week, Marlon struggles to get Rhona to take her mind off her upcoming court day as she dreads facing her kidnap charges. When the day arrives, they’re quickly called in for the trial.
While on the stand, Gus begins to twist the narrative as a horrified Rhona watches on as he lies about what actually happened. Soon, Rhona’s defence fights back when they begin to question Gus’ good character and intentions.
A while later Vanessa prepares to take the stand and Rhona hopes the tide is beginning to turn for her but will Vanessa be caught out by the prosecution’s harsh line of questioning? Meanwhile, Paddy’s attempts to distract April fall at the first hurdle when the Woolpack starts to descend into a debate about Rhona’s court case and what the outcome will be.
Back in court, Rhona finally takes to the stand and faces the prosecution’s accusations about her character. A fired up Rhona begins to lose her cool and she ends up lashing out at Gus -potentially ruining her chances.

When the judge adjourns for the day, Rhona is left kicking herself for getting so upset at Gus while on the stand. The debate at the Woolpack continues to rage on but the group are put in their place when April tells them that if even Rhona’s friends can’t agree, then how will the jury be able to settle the case?

Later on, Rhona is shaken when a smug Gus revels in her capitulation in court. As the jury heads off to deliberate, Rhona’s fate hangs in the balance and she paces anxiously as she awaits their decision. Will she be able to put her brash kidnap decision behind her?
Since Gus arrived back on the scene, he has caused Rhona and Marlon a lot of stress. With the arrival of baby Ivy, Rhona has been left powerless as she tries not to get too attached to her own child, who Gus created with her frozen egg.
