EastEnders: Cindy to violently confront attacker in wedding chaos
EastEnders spoilers follow.
Cindy Beale will violently confront her attacker on EastEnders as a wedding is thrown into chaos in customary fashion.
Cindy was brutally attacked on Christmas Day as an unknown assailant hit her over the head with a shovel, an act that left her hospitalised. Since awakening, Cindy has attempted to deduce the identity of the culprit, with suspicion falling on several people.
In scenes set to air during the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations next week, Cindy and estranged husband Ian will have a huge row at Kathy’s café after Priya – who has been hired by Cindy to get close to Ian – makes a huge revelation.
After the blowout, an enraged Cindy interrupts Billy and Honey Mitchell’s wedding celebrations at The Vic as she points the finger at one individual, with the room left stunned following the outburst.
Things take a darker turn later on as Cindy catches one of the other suspects in a compromising position, with the character pointing a gun at them. Following a showdown, Cindy discovers who has been in possession of her missing locket and identifies them as her attacker.
But just as she thinks she’s solved the crime, another twist turns the situation on its head. Will Cindy finally be able to work out who attacked her on that fateful night, and who will get caught in the fire at The Vic?
The 40th anniversary celebrations, which will begin in the week commencing February 17, will feature a fully-live episode on Thursday, February 20.
One of those reprising their role is Ross Kemp, with the star returning to Albert Square as Grant Mitchell for the first time in nine years. After nearly a decade away, the actor and documentarian teased his upcoming scenes, sharing that they would be “impactful”.
“I’m only back for a short period of time but it’s pretty impactful,” he said. “He certainly comes back with bang – they didn’t have time to drop me in gently. There’s no soft landing if you’ve been part of that inner circle on EastEnders.”
