BBC EastEnders’ Michelle Collins one-word response as Cindy Beale’s attacker revealed
EastEnders star Michelle Collins has confirmed that she won't be appearing in the live episode despite her character Cindy Beale being at the centre of a major whodunnit storyline
Michelle Collins has dished the dirt revealing she won’t pop up in the upcoming EastEnders live show despite her alter ego Cindy Beale being smack bang in the middle of a massive whodunnit.
As the BBC One soap preps for its 40th anniversary, fans are buzzing about an hour-long special and a week full of celebratory episodes, capping off with a live broadcast on Thursday night (February 20).
The much-anticipated revelation of who roughed up Cindy at Christmas is on the horizon as the story heats up with Cindy confronting the suspect at gunpoint, sparking a series of events leading to the iconic Queen Vic pub going kaboom.
Despite the hype, Michelle won’t be gracing the live episode. Chatting with Metro, she said: “I’m actually not going to be in the live. I am allowed to say that.”
She elaborated on the intricacies: “It’s quite complicated but I am in the lead-up to the live. I actually think it’s very well done.”
A theatre veteran, Michelle admits that the thrill of live TV is a different beast: “I’ve done a lot of theatre but I don’t think it really matters. Live tv is very different to live theatre, so I think there’s going to be quite a few very terrified actors.”, reports Plymouth Live.
The actress wasn’t taken aback at all by the reveal of who brutalised Cindy, adding: “Was I surprised? No, I wasn’t surprised when I found out. I think Cindy will be very surprised when she finds out.”
Michelle praised the plot twist, noting: “It’s great the way they’ve done it with the suspects being so close to Cindy, it’s really been exciting.”
