BBC EastEnders Queen Vic explosion double d.e.a.t.h sealed after sad twist

The Queen Vic has gone up in flames on EastEnders - and fans are fearful it could lead to a double d.e.a.t.h in a Romeo and Juliet style twist

EastEnders fans are convinced a double d.e.a.t.h could be on the cards after the explosion at the Queen Vic.

In dramatic scenes last night, the Queen Vic exploded trapping multiple people inside – with no idea who has survived. Just moments before, Stacey confessed she was in love with Martin and wanted him back amid rumours he had planned to marry Ruby.

Devastated by his rejection, Stacey told Jean there was no way back for them – but now fans have predicted a gut-wrenching twist after Stacey’s admission to Martin about how she really felt.

Some viewers are convinced both Stacey and Martin could d.i.e in a harrowing twist, akin to star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet.

One fan theorised: “I think Stacey d.i.e.s, as this was filmed a while ago with Lacey’s scenes as she’s so pregnant in them you can tell…. She’s just had her baby in real life so maybe now is the great chance for Martin to “save” one of them and it’s Ruby he goes for. Would be good as Stacey has just confessed her love for Martin still be a bit like Romeo and Juliet but Martin doesn’t d.i.e.”

However, another fan replied: “Martin would never choose Ruby over Stacey,” whilst a third said: “I think he would choose Stacey to save.” A fourth added: “Maybe Ruby is pregnant again and shouts it out in the fire and Stacey tells Martin to save her?”

Another shared: “Can’t see Stacey being k.i.l.l.e.d off.” Other theories have suggested that Martin could d.i.e too, given that he has been front and centre at various important points in the recent episodes and the character is celebrating their 40th birthday this year, the same birthday that the soap is celebrating with its big anniversary week.

Theorising it could be Martin, one fan said: “sharons upstairs, staceys in the bathroom, sonia and lauren in the kitchen. martins family and everyone he loves in the vic. too much focus on martin and his future. im incredibly fearful for his life #eastenders.”

Lacey Turner is due to leave the soap soon for maternity leave, with no one sure if her exit is permanent.

Sharing a tribute to the soap, Lacey wrote: “Happy 40th birthday to the programme that changed my life ! What an honour to have spent all these years watching icons work and stories change lives!

“This show has made 40 years because of so many people in so many departments do there jobs like no one else can! Thank you to everyone in front of the tele and behind the tele! Here’s to another 40.”
