Tom King (James Chase) has fresh concerns in Emmerdale as brother-in-law Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) becomes suspicious of his behaviour.

Viewers of the ITV soap have watched in horror as Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper) has tolerated her husband’s controlling behaviour over the last few months.

In terrifying scenes, the lovestruck business woman quickly forgave Tom when he violently pushed her away after she declined his proposal, and has since then emotionally manipulated her on multiple occasions.

As well as trying to ruin his wife’s career prospects at the Take a Vow wedding planners, he’s also installed a tracker on her phone and in chilling scenes, destroyed her mum Lisa’s (Jane Cox) urn containing her ashes.

In a bid to make her feel more guilty, he staged a fake burglary earlier this week that saw his mum’s ring go ‘missing’.

In tonight’s (5th April) episode, Tom headed downstairs to find a terrified Belle sat at the dining table, having not slept for fears of the apparent robbers returning.

Suggesting she accompany him to the police station, he asserted that she should try and get some sleep and he would go alone.

She reluctantly agreed, and he later called her from a roadside pretending to be on route to the station to report the crime.

Over at Wishing Well Cottage, Belle admitted to her family that she was too scared to stay in her house alone and asked to stay there for the rest of the day.

When Tom arrived, Cain questioned him on which pawnbrokers he’d visited and said he would hunt down the thieves to get the rings back.

Later in the day, at The Woolpack, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) backed up her brother’s claims and said if there’s one man not to mess with, it’s Cain – and Tom looked like he was about to cry.

Clearly panicking, he quickly assured Belle’s family that there was no need to investigate it any further as it could potentially cause further upset and fear for her.

Walking out of the pub, Tom breathed a sigh of relief as Cain watched on with a raised eyebrow…

Should Tom be worried?
