Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who will catch out Tom King – and it’s not Cain Dingle after all

Tom King’s (James Chase) days are numbered in Emmerdale after he showed his true nature to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson).

The abuser has been making wife Belle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) life a living hell since they tied the knot earlier this year.

From urging her to quit her job to spying on her with a tracker, the vet has gone out of his way to manipulate and control Belle, with his latest act seeing him lie to her about a robbery at their home.

Tom had trashed the house in a fit of rage and when Belle returned home, he claimed that they’d been the victims of a burglary, which left the wedding planner fearing for her safety.

Monday’s (April 8) edition of the ITV soap saw Belle still shaken by the events of last week, with Tom encouraging her to invite Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) around for some support while he was at work.

Nicola did pop over, as did Vinny, with Tom horrified to find Belle in the latter’s presence upon returning home. Belle was much more relaxed in Vinny’s company, which Tom took offence to as he implied that Vinny should leave his wife alone.

Clearly spooked, Vinny made tracks, which left Belle somewhat concerned. Tom, meanwhile, decided to bring back Piper the dog much to Belle’s delight, as she felt safer knowing that the dog could bark to alert her of any potential intruders.

The second half of the hour-long offering took place the following day, with Belle and Vinny agreeing to take Piper and Chip for a runaround the village.

Tom was seething.

Belle, meanwhile, took a call from Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi), who requested her presence at work, with Vinny agreeing to look after Piper in her absence.

Tom, however, spotted an opportunity to make Vinny look like the bad guy as he snatched Piper when the young lad’s back was turned, with Belle blaming her friend for the incident, much to Tom’s delight.

To make the situation even more sinister, Tom watched the showdown on a puppy camera he’d purchased, which pretty much confirms that he’ll be using the device to keep tabs on Belle.

Vinny, meanwhile, will find himself public enemy number one.

But now that he’s seen for himself Tom’s true nature, will it be him that exposes the abuser? Fans had predicted Cain (Jeff Hordley) to be the hero of the hour after he started to grow suspicious of Tom last week, but will it in fact be Vinny?

Emmerdale continues Wednesday April 10 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
