Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Will Dani Really Receive A $150,000 Settlement From This Joke of A Lawsuit?
After rewatching all the scenes from the conference room mediation in the Dany vs. Airline case, it becomes even clearer how poorly structured and illogical this storyline is.
The word “alleged” keeps getting thrown around regarding Dany knocking coffee on Leonard. At first, Dany insists she didn’t assault Leonard, only knocked the coffee over. Then, when pressed by Dei, Andy immediately jumps in with, “No, Miss King, say no more. She admits to nothing.” But then, Andy also dismisses the airline’s witnesses.
Witnesses of what exactly? Witnesses who saw Dany knock the coffee on Leonard? But do they have a full account of the incident, including everything that led up to the alleged coffee spill? Andy’s argument seems to be that unless the witnesses can testify about Leonard’s prior words and actions towards Dany, their testimony is invalid. Yet, she expects everyone to take Dany’s word that Leonard was harassing her without any substantial proof.
This double standard is absurd. Why can’t the airline’s witnesses be trusted, yet Andy can claim Leonard harassed Dany without evidence? The inconsistency weakens the entire case.
Then there’s HR, which completely botched the situation. They clearly didn’t get both sides of the story before suspending Dany. There’s even a cutaway shot of the HR rep looking guilty, realizing they messed up. Leonard wasn’t suspended, even though he was supposedly part of this issue. It seems like the airline feared Leonard might take legal action, so they used Dany as a scapegoat.
The writing here feels incredibly rushed, as if the writers just wanted Andy to have a “big win” moment without considering the logical steps of how such a case would unfold. They likely thought, “Fans are tired of Andy being weak, so let’s make her assertive!” But when you break down the scene, it makes no sense.
Then there’s the upcoming settlement negotiation where Andy demands $150,000. What? That amount feels like a starting bid that will be negotiated down, but even then, it’s ridiculous. One of the funniest comments I’ve seen is that Dany will probably just spend the money on weed and keep living in her tiny studio apartment.
There’s potential for her to do something meaningful—maybe invest some money through Zach, who’s into stocks, or finally leave the airline and use her degree for a better career. But given how the show portrays her, it’s unlikely she’ll make smart financial moves.
At the end of the day, this entire case is flimsy at best. I had an hour-long discussion with a fan about how the real issue isn’t Tony but HR. People want to blame Tony, but HR made the final call to suspend Dany without proper investigation.
Also, why is nobody bringing up security footage? This is an airport. If witnesses aren’t enough, surely there’s footage of the incident. Back in Season 3 or 4, Hayden managed to get airport security footage of Zack being handed a piece of paper with stock tips. If they had access to that, why wouldn’t they have footage of Dany knocking coffee on Leonard?
If you think about this case for five seconds, it completely falls apart. The fact that a settlement might be reached in the next episode is just ridiculous.
Honestly, this just feels like a forced way to give Dany a win. She rejected Preston, who truly cared for her. She rejected Tony, who tried to help her level up. And now, the writers are handing her this undeserved victory just because?
This is just bad writing. What do you think?
