BBC EastEnders: ‘floored’ after realising Stacey Slater has ‘two secret siblings’
EastEnders fans have demanded BBC soap bosses introduce Stacey Slater's two half-sisters as the iconic character remains in turmoil over the d.e.a.t.h of Martin Fowler
EastEnders enthusiasts have been left gobsmacked upon discovering that Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) has two yet-to-be-introduced half-sisters, leading to a surge in viewer demand.
Currently, Stacey is mourning the loss of her beloved Martin Fowler (James Bye), who tragically passed away in The Queen Vic last month following an explosion. The former couple had plans to remarry before Martin suffered a sudden heart attack after being hit by a metal beam.
Stacey has years of history in Walford after arriving back in November 2004, at the tender age of 15, moving in with her great-uncle Charlie Slater (Derek Martin) and Mo Harris (Laila Morse) after being kicked out by her mother Jean (Gillian Wright).
Initially suspected of stalking Stacey and causing her mental health to deteriorate, it was later revealed that Kyle was born female and originally named Sarah Slater. Despite forming a bond with his sister, Kyle’s life in Walford was short-lived as he departed the Square in 2016 for a new job in Marseille, France.
However, Stacey also has two additional half-sisters, Siobhan and Shannon Slater, reports Plymouth Live. EastEnders viewers are urging for show creators to bring in Stacey Slater’s two unrevealed sisters amid her current woes with Martin.
One switched-on viewer posted on Reddit: “Stacey and Sean have three half siblings – Kyle, Siobhan and Shannon. We were introduced to Kyle in 2015, he was born Sarah Slater but struggled with his identity. Although I did find his character boring I did love his and Stacey’s bond.”
They elaborated: “According to EastEnders wiki Shannon was born in 1995 making her 29/30 years old, although Kyle was estranged to his sisters in 2016 he mentioned to Stacey that she was getting married. Not much is known about Siobhan.”
A fellow fan responded: “I’m surprised we’ve never met them, I love the idea of Stacey having sisters. What do you guys think? Who do you think could play Shannon and Siobhan?” Another chimed in, pondering: “It would actually be really cool if the three of them came back. Maybe with a new business not seen on the Square before?”
Moreover, an intrigued fan asked: “Have they ignored the fact we have met Stacey’s half brother (who was trans) called Kyle. He was a chef and since he’s left not been mentioned at all,” while suggestions even emerged for casting potential new talent, with one saying: “Paula Lane and Nikki Sanderson would be great.”
The buzz didn’t stop there, as another devotee added: “That would also be amazing. Lacey Turner was a hidden gem. This was just a TikTok I saw showing their options on who could potentially play the sisters.”
EastEnders airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
