Emmerdale troublemaker Ruby Fox-Miligan locks horns with another villager next week as a new feud rumbles on.

This time it isn’t one of the Dingle clan that the character sparks drama with. After weeks of clashing with her extended family, amid her rocky marriage to Caleb Miligan, this time Ruby sets her sights on another villager to fall out with.

Spoilers reveal that she clashes with Manpreet Sharma, following an incident with Caleb in upcoming scenes. After suffering pains in upcoming episodes, Caleb arrives at the surgery hoping for an emergency appointment.

Manpreet is unable to see him though, rushed off her feet, and she sends him packing. Caleb ends up collapsing in agony, while it remains to be seen what is wrong with him and whether he will be okay.

Next week, new spoilers suggest Ruby takes aim at Manpreet in the fallout to her husband’s ill health. Manpreet tries to sort things out with Ruby amid a rising conflict between them.

Manpreet confronts Ruby face to face, wanting to cool things but she is left fearing she’s made things worse. Will Ruby let go of whatever it is that’s bothered her, or might things escalate?

During a recent chat with Inside Soap, Ruby actress Beth Cordingly responded to the backlash by first admitting that her own family were also on the fence. She said: “[My family] think she’s pretty awful.

“After the dinner party scene where Ruby got drunk and was horrible to everybody, my dad was very concerned I’d get trolled. I don’t really look at social media… Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”

Despite the criticism Ruby may have received from frustrated viewers online, Beth has weighed in on her on-screen alter ego’s good traits as she insisted: “I think she’d be fiercely loyal and fight for you, and would be a laugh to hang out with, but I’d avoid mixing her with other groups of people in your life.”

She then added: “You’d probably see the way she behaves in a very different light and it would make you cringe, I don’t think she’s evil, just incredibly impulsive.” But in another breath, Beth also admitted her character may be struggling with addiction, which could be making her behaviour more erratic: “I also think she’s a functioning alcoholic, and whenever she has a white wine on the go in The Woolpack she often goes off the rails on people.”
