Emmerdale star is swapping the farm for Crufts 2025

A young Emmerdale star has secured a place in this year’s Crufts.
Gabrielle Dowling has played Cathy Hope since 2007. The character is the daughter of Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).
Bob and Cathy went through an emotional ordeal recently in the show, as they reflected on the d.e.a.t.h of Cathy’s twin Heath, played by Gabrielle’s real-life sibling Sebastian.
Heath Hope d.i.e.d at the start of 2024 following a car crash. In the aftermath, Cathy was accused by her dad of driving the car when the collision happened, but eventually discovered friend Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) was actually responsible.
Away from this storyline, Cathy has also been at the centre of a narrative that highlighted PMDD.
When she isn’t acting as her soap alter-ego, Gabrielle likes to keep herself busy with her beloved pooches.
So much so, she has even qualified for Crufts with her chocolate working cocker spaniel called Fizz!
In an amazing achievement, the star has qualified in the young kennel club jumping cup, which will take place today.
She has also secured a place in the young kennel club pairs agility with her partner Lilliana, who will be competing with her dog Fire.
Gabrielle regularly competes at competitions around the UK with her dogs Flo and Fizz. She fits this in around studying for her A Levels, as well as working at Emmerdale.
The young actress only began agility training three years ago with Flo after being approached by a trainer, who spoke to Gabrielle about developing her skill.
