ITV Emmerdale affair ‘sealed’ for Charity Dingle and unexpected villager in huge twist
Emmerdale fans think they have worked out who Charity Dingle will have an affair with - but it's not who you might think.
Emmerdale viewers are predicting a surprise affair for Charity Dingle, and it’s not with who you’d expect.
Charity, portrayed by Emma Atkins, has been a mainstay on the soap since 2000. As part of the much-loved Dingle family, she’s been involved in numerous major plotlines. From shocking family revelations to prison stints, her life in the Dales has been anything but dull.
She’s also had her fair share of notorious and unforgettable love affairs. She was once married to Chris Tate (Peter Amory), but ended up having an affair with his sister, Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell).
She also had an affair with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and shares a son, Moses, with tough guy Ross Barton (Mike Parr). Currently, she’s married to Mack Boyd (Mackenzie Boyd).
However, fans suspect there’s trouble brewing and Charity is about to embark on a new affair in the Dales. Recently in the soap, Ross made a return, much to Charity’s chagrin, reports Leicestershire Live. Meanwhile, Charity’s ex-lover Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) has been left heartbroken.

As viewers will remember, Charity, Vanessa and several other female villagers were involved in a shocking limousine crash that resulted in the d.e.a.t.h.s of Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Vanessa’s girlfriend Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).
Since their d.e.a.t.h.s, it’s been revealed that Vanessa was planning to propose to Suzy. However, a flashback this week confirmed that Suzy was actually planning to break things off as she was in love with Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson).
Speculation is rife among fans that Suzy’s secret will soon come to light, leading many to believe Vanessa will find solace in Charity’s embrace, reigniting their past romance. Yet, some viewers are placing their bets on a twist, suggesting Charity might instead embark on an affair with Ross.

One fan mused on a Reddit thread, “So now that Vanessa is single again, and Ross is back on the scene, do Charity and Mac really stand a chance? Who wants to start a book on Charity’s next affair?”
Another chimed in with a prediction, “I reckon she’ll cheat on Mack w Ross. I don’t think it’ll necessarily be a case of her having feelings for him, but they’ll get caught and it’ll break him.” A third concurred simply with, “Yup Ross.”
Others, however, see a different reunion on the horizon, with one fan proposing, “I can see Vanessa and charity getting back together.” Echoing this sentiment, another declared, “Hopefully Suzy’s secret leads to Vanessa and Charity getting back together!”.
