Yet another Emmerdale legend in the mix and ‘set to expose’ Tom King – and its not Vinny or Cain Dingle

Emmerdale has yet again hinted at who will expose Tom King (James Chase), with a third character entering the frame.

The ITV soap has saw both Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) cop on to the fact that Tom isn’t the nice guy he’s making himself out to be, with fans convinced that one – or both – will play a role in the abuser’s downfall.

But a new development on Wednesday (April 10) saw Tom almost caught out by Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who walked in to the veterinary surgery to find the villain cradling dog Piper, who was thought to be missing.

Piper is the dog of Tom’s wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper).

Belle, who has been subjected to cruel and controlling abuse at her husband’s hands, believed Piper to have run away, but the whole thing was an elaborate scheme from Tom, who was eager to drive a wedge between Belle and best friend Vinny, who was looking after the dog at the time of the vanishing.

Paddy was confused to find Tom with Piper in tow. Tom, however, covered with a story about how he found the dog in a river and came to its rescue.

Paddy seemingly bought the story but, given that this is the third time in less than a week that a villager has almost caught Tom out, it’s likely that he could play a role in taking the abuser down.

Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw recently confirmed to Metro.co.uk that the storyline in question will play out for some time and that there will be a special and ‘innovative’ episode focusing on it in the near future.

‘Through our storyline, we’ve been trying to find new and innovative ways to tell this story and we have a bit of a special episode coming up where we kind of do what everyone seems to like and step away from our usual format and do things a little differently,’ she said.

‘So it’s a dinner party mainly focusing on Belle and Tom and Marlon and Rhona, we’ll see what goes on in their relationships but through the special way we’ve done it is that we’ll see behind closed doors.’

Emmerdale continues Thursday April 11 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
