Death in Paradise

Beyond Paradise set for special crossover with beloved long-running BBC show

Two worlds collide in a case of mistaken identities.

Beyond Paradise is set to cross over with another beloved BBC series soon.

The hit British crime drama will collide with Lee Mack’s long-running sitcom Not Going Out in a special sketch later this year.

Death in Paradise spinoff Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton as DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd, but Bretton also features in Not Going Out as Lee’s wife Lucy.

The upcoming Red Nose Day sketch will see Bretton’s two characters cross paths in a comical case of mistaken identities as the fictional worlds collide.

Written by Mack, the sketch will see the cast of Not Going Out cause chaos as they venture out to the coast and enter the Beyond Paradise world.

“It was great fun to have the two worlds collide, play my own doppelganger and get swept up in the madness that comes with that,” Bretton remarked. “It was particularly special to be doing it all for such a brilliant cause as Comic Relief.

“The sketch was filmed at such high speed, we didn’t know if we were coming or going. I don’t know how Lee Mack holds all the moving parts in his head.

“We all had a great day filled with fun, confusion and belly laughs.”

Marshall also shared his delight over the sketch and getting involved in Red Nose Day 2025.

“It’s always a delight to be able to combine the joys of comedy with the ability to help the many worthwhile charities that Comic Relief supports,” he said. “And that as a part of the hilarious mistaken identities and sliding-doors pastiche in a melange of two of the BBC’s most beloved shows, I can be a small cog in this year’s wonderful evening of fun, frolics and fundraising.”
