EastEnders Shireen’s real k.i.l.l.e.r ‘exposed’ as fans ‘work out’ it’s not Nicola or Teddy

EastEnders fans are certain they’ve figured out the real culprit behind Shireen Bashar’s murder – and it’s not Teddy or Nicola Mitchell.

In Wednesday’s (March 12) episode, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) disclosed that her ex-spouse Teddy was accountable for the demise of their son Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen.

The BBC One soap is currently unravelling a covert paternity plot as Nicola conceals the fact that Zack Hudson (James Farrar) is the biological dad of her teenage son Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman).

Nicola had intended to keep Barney’s actual father a secret, aware of Zack’s half-sister Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) having an affair with Teddy and her ex-husband Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).

However, when Sharon – now privy to Barney’s paternity – had a chat with Teddy, Barney unexpectedly revealed the truth about Sharon’s unfaithfulness to his dad, reports Plymouth Live.

Teddy was left reeling from the revelation of Sharon’s betrayal in recent scenes as she confessed about her fling with Grant, Teddy’s cousin, and expressed regret, labelling it a mistake.

Teddy’s anger escalated when Nicola walked in visibly distressed – fearing the truth about Barney’s paternity was exposed, however, Teddy was instead livid at Nicola for being aware of Sharon’s infidelity and keeping him in the dark.

Corrie enthusiasts are on the edge of their seats after a row between Zack and Teddy escalated into violence. Zack got knocked down by Teddy after calling him out as a “bully” with “little man syndrome” and bringing up Sharon’s infidelity, which pushed Teddy too far.

Things got intense until Barney appeared visibly upset, prompting Teddy to stop the assault, apologise, and exit the scene, leaving Nicola to console Barney and Sharon to care for an injured Zack.

The drama didn’t stop there, as Sharon implored Zack to bunk at her place and keep mum about Barney’s paternity to protect his safety; nevertheless, Zack was stubborn. Just then, Nicola showed up at Sharon’s, overhearing the siblings’ chat and copping on to Sharon’s knowledge of Barney’s dad dilemma, hinting at a heap of trouble ahead.

Nicola pulled no punches, cautioning them to zip it about Teddy’s true nature – fearing that revealing the dark side they witnessed, Teddy’s true violent streak, could have lethal consequences. She paints Teddy as a murderer who had previously done in Shireen.

With Nicola pressing them to stay shtum or end up like Shireen, viewers aren’t buying her tale. Fans flocked to Twitter with theories, one suggesting: “I think Nicola k.i.l.l.e.d Harry’s ex.”

Another chimed in backing the claim: “Did Teddy really do that to Shireen or was it Nicola?”.

Doubt is spreading among the audience, with a tweet stating: “I’m not convinced Teddy is a k.i.l.l.e.r. Maybe one of Nicola’s contacts were involved and she had to cover it up.”

A stunned viewer chimed in, saying: “I’m convinced it was actually Barney who k.i.l.l.e.d Shireen and Nicola covered it up and Barney is blissfully unaware.”

Soap watchers are on the edge of their seats, wondering if Teddy could be the culprit behind his son’s girlfriend’s demise or if there’s more to this story that meets the eye.
