Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) has had a tough week in Emmerdale after facing trial for kidnapping baby Ivy, but she was awash with relief when she was finally found innocent.

Revelling in her freedom, Rhona is eager to get the ball rolling in her fight to win back custody of biological daughter Ivy, and remains hopeful that she will win, despite Ethan Anderson’s (Emile John) warnings that it could take years.

Ivy was born after Gus (Alan McKenna) stole embryos he and Rhona had collected during their marriage, meaning that although she is biologically her mother, she currently has no legal rights over her.

When Ivy’s mum, Lucy, died in childbirth, Rhona took her in as Gus struggled to cope, and soon grew attached to her – so much so that she ended up running away with her when she learnt that Gus planned to move her to France.

In upcoming scenes, Rhona is surprised when Gus offers to plead guilty to the theft of the embryos in a bid to help move the custody process along faster.

However, Rhona distrusts his motives and declines, much to Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) horror.

Furious, he berates her for turning down the chance of reuniting their family.

The following day, Rhona reluctantly agrees to meet with Gus, but still can’t work out if he is genuine about helping her.

As Gus reveals that he will need a victim support statement to mitigate his sentencing, Rhona considers supporting him, swayed by his impassioned plea.

Following their meeting, she and Marlon debate whether or not they can trust Gus. Will they be able to get Ivy back, or are they in for a long fight?
