Emmerdale fans will be delighted to discover the return of a popular character with many hoping it leads to a full comeback.
Emmerdale spoilers suggest suspicious Ross might well be getting a little too close to ill Joe’s plot to steal Caleb’s kidney. Dr Crowley and Joe have a clandestine meeting in a layby to iron out the final details for the clandestine operation.
Ross knocks on their car window to interrupt and Crowley is seriously spooked wanting to postpone unless Joe can sort the situation. Soon, Ross receives an alarming phone call that his brother, Pete, has been attacked. Ross soon rushes away to visit his brother in a hospital.
Actor Ned Porteous, 30, who reprised his role of Joe Tate towards the end of 2024 after six years away, has discussed the storyline and whether Joe is behind the attack of Pete – the brother of Ross. Ned coyly said: “We never really know. We haven’t seen Pete for a long time.
“I think it’s fair to say that Joe would do anything to save his own life. I’m sure he’ll crack a few skulls or some other people’s skulls to do whatever he needs to do.”
It would appear Pete’s ‘return’ if off-screen in this instance. Anthony Quinlan played Pete Barton between 2013 and 2020. As we previously reported, Mike Parr, who portrays Ross, is desperate to see the actor return to film.
Mike said: “I’d love Quinny back, yeah. Because Quinny had done Hollyoaks before, and while he’s not that much older than me, he felt older as soon as we got here (when the actors joined the cast). He could walk to walk, with soap stuff.”
Mike added: “Quinny is a lovely, soft, fun person to be around so I would love it.”
We’ll have to see if Emmerdale character Pete appears on-screen in the coming weeks.
