Things aren’t looking great for Caleb in Emmerdale, but does he d.i.e after Joe’s stabbing plot? There is a lot of evidence that suggests Will Ash may have left the soap.

Joe wants Caleb’s kidney. And it appears he won’t stop until he gets it – no matter what. But after his initial plan didn’t go well, he has decided something more drastic is the better way to do things (instead of just asking someone for help).

Now, he is planning on getting an unknowing Caleb stabbed. But could things go wrong? And will Caleb make it out alive? With the odds stacked against him, let’s have a look at the evidence suggesting we are about to say goodbye to Caleb.

1. Caleb flat-lines

At the very start of the year, we were given five flash-forwards, with no idea how or when any of them would come into fruition. So far the only one we have actually witnessed is the hand banging on the ice. But it looks like we may be about to see another one.

In one of the eerie flash-forwards, Caleb was flat-lining in a hospital, and things looked very bleak for the fan-favourite character. Now, a few months later, we know that Joe’s plan will definitely put him in hospital.

So as he is on the operating table, does he d.i.e?

2. Cain cries at a graveside – Does Caleb d.i.e?

Another flash-forward also hinted at Caleb’s d.e.a.t.h – we just didn’t realise it at the time. Cain was seen crying over a fresh grave. And we all know he isn’t one to show emotion for just anybody, it has to be someone he cared about.

While many speculated it would be Nate’s grave after the icy reveal, there are no signs of that being discovered any time soon. But there is more and more indication that Caleb will be dying.

Caleb and Cain’s relationship has been very turbulent, especially since Caleb found out about his brother and Ruby. But at the end of the day, they are family, and that means quite a lot to the Dingles. So, if Caleb were to d.i.e, then it makes complete sense as to why Cain was so sad at the graveside.

3. Future storylines if Caleb d.i.e.s

Let’s be real. As one of the biggest characters on the show at the minute, Caleb’s d.e.a.t.h would bring so many new storylines. While we would hate to see him go, many characters would get new routes to explore.

For starters, the circumstances surrounding his d.e.a.t.h would be extremely suspicious. And it would be obvious that someone had done it to him. Which means the Dingle’s and the Fox-Miligan’s would be out for revenge. It would be Joe Tate on the receiving end. And we think he would go to extreme measures to keep his part quiet.

Then Ruby and Steph’s worlds would be thrown upside down. Caleb was the one holding Ruby up right after everything with Anthony, so if he were gone, she could perhaps spiral. And if that floodgate opened, a lot of people would be in danger. And Steph, who is currently dealing with the truth about who she is, would have lost her dad.

4. Will Ash’s new role

At the end of January it was revealed that Caleb actor Will Ash would be taking on a new role away from Emmerdale.

He was cast in a short film written by former EastEnders star Toby Alexander Smith, who happens to be co-star Amy Walsh’s partner.

The film is titled Calm and tells the story of a first-time father who becomes overwhelmed by the disconnection he feels from his son.

With his role being described as ‘pivotal’ to the storyline, a departure from Emmerdale looks more and more possible.

So, with all of the evidence stacking up, does Caleb d.i.e in Emmerdale? We hope not!
