Wedding drama ‘confirmed’ for surprise couple in Emmerdale – but there’s no happy ending in sight
Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty Barton’s (Ash Palmisciano) wedding very nearly didn’t go ahead in Emmerdale.
On the morning of the big day, Kerry (Laura Norton) broke the news to her daughter that she cannot afford to pay for the ceremony.
As Amy and Matty faced the prospect of cancelling everything, Eric (Chris Chittell) was visiting Kerry, who was heartbroken she had disappointed her daughter – again.
At Take a Vow, Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) received a phone call and then informed Amy and Matty the wedding was back on, because Pollard had saved the day.
The ceremony itself was incredibly emotional. Matty – who is trans – spoke about everything he had been through and how happy it makes him feel to be with someone who loves him so dearly.
During the wedding reception, Amy excitedly stood up and prepared to throw the bouquet of flowers.
As it flew across the room, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) caught it – and her reaction was quite something.
While Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) was more than happy with the teaser of marrying Vic, the situation caused her to feel anxious.
In the kitchen of Home Farm, Moira (Natalie J Robb) found Vic and wondered what was going on.
Victoria and Jacob started their relationship shortly after David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) left the village, a move that only happened because he couldn’t deal with his ex being with his son.
Fair enough.
Most recently, Jacob revealed to Victoria that he had been given the chance to travel to Berlin for his medical studies. While it was an amazing opportunity, Jacob said he wouldn’t be going because he couldn’t bare the thought of being away from Victoria…for six weeks.
This development prompted Vic to open up about how the relationship makes her feel. She told Moira it seems like her and Jacob are working really hard to make the relationship work because if it does, there will be a worthwhile reason for the hurt and upset they caused along the way.
Moira told Vic that she needs to have an honest conversation with Jacob and tell him her thoughts, but will that put their future in jeopardy?
