Emmerdale: ‘solve’ flashforward of Mack running in Nate m.u.r.d.e.r twist

There’s ongoing speculation over why Mackenzie Boyd was seen running through a woodland in a flashforward scene that was previously teased on Emmerdale. Fans are yet to see it play out though or discover the circumstances of it.
The teaser was shown on the ITV soap just months ago whilst characters like Mack (played by Lawrence Robb) celebrated New Year’s Eve. It was revealed at the time that “a glimpse into each of their futures” would be revealed in five “flashforward scenes”. Mack was seen running through the woods, potentially away from someone or something.
Nate was thought to have left the village last year for a new job but viewers didn’t actually see him go. Then last month, a body was spotted in a lake following a limo crash and there’s since been speculation over what happened to him.
Some fans think he may have been k.i.l.l.e.d by John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), with him among the suspects in Nate’s apparent d.e.a.t.h. There’s previously been concern that Nate may have got caught up in a barn fire in the village, though someone would have then had to move his body to the lake.

As viewers await answers, there has been some speculation that Mack could have been involved. Just a few days ago, amid ongoing speculation about the scene of him in the woods, one person suggested on Facebook that he could have been running from Nate, hinting that it’s a flashback.
They wrote: “Ohhhh I’m beginning to think for some reason Nate tried to k.i.l.l Mack and that’s why he’s running through woods but Mack ends up k.i.l.l.i.n.g Nate because we know Nate is d.e.a.d in the lake. We also now know what happened to Caleb that was last nights so the grave is obviously Calebs….”
And earlier this month, whilst sharing their predictions for what’s to come, one fan instead suggested that the scene is a flashforward that hasn’t taken place yet, but again wondered if it was related to Nate’s disappearance. They wrote on X: “Mack finds Nates body.” They suggested that he hadn’t k.i.l.l.e.d him though, with them adding: “Aaron finds out John k.i.l.l.e.d Nate.”

Just weeks prior, someone wrote: “What if it was Mack who disposed of Nate, supposing Nate d.i.e.d in the barn fire and Mack found him and to protect Moira who caused the fire he got rid of the body and this is what Mack was running from in the flash forward.” They have however since suggested otherwise, theorising: “So he (Anthony) is allegedly buried in the woods! Is this the same woods we saw Mack running through in the flash forward, maybe he sees Antony’s body and this is why he is running.”
The prospect of Mack having some involvement in Nate’s disappearance comes amid more speculation that he was instead running away from John though. It’s been suggested by some fans that John isn’t who he says he is and that he k.i.l.l.e.d Nate at some point before his disappearance.
One fan wrote on X last month: “Here is my theory if it’s Nate in the lake, John k.i.l.l.e.d him and then Mack finds out that’s why he is running for his life in the woods as John wants to shut him up, but this is if #Emmerdale go this way, it would explain a lot about John if he is a k.i.l.l.e.r.” Another wrote last week: “Well, we’re getting through the flash forwards. What’s next? We still have Cain crying at a grave, Mack running for his life through a forest and a body being dumped. I’m ever the pessimist is Mack going to be k.i.l.l.e.d off by serial k.i.l.l.e.r John?”
