Emmerdale: 6 major secrets that need to be exposed in the village

Secrets rarely stay secret in soapland, but here are some that we think need to be exposed in Emmerdale immediately.

This year, we’ve seen Anthony’s d.e.a.t.h cover-up exposed, while Vanessa discovered Suzy’s kiss with Mary.

But there are lots of other secrets just waiting to be revealed like ticking time bombs. Here are the ones we can’t wait to see exposed.

Caleb’s kidney theft

After returning to the village at Christmas, it was soon revealed to viewers that Joe Tate was struggling with his health.

We then discovered that he had chronic kidney disease and was in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Not one to do things by the book, Joe decided to steal a kidney instead.

He first targeted half-brother Noah, who was drugged and taken to a private hospital, only for it to be discovered that he wasn’t a suitable match. Caleb was next in line. After tricking Manpreet into giving him a vial of Caleb’s blood, Joe knew Caleb was a match.

Caleb was stabbed and taken to a private hospital where Dr Crowley saved his life then performed the kidney transplant. Though Caleb is aware he has lost a kidney, he has no idea of the truth over how he lost it. And we can’t wait for the Dingle retribution when the truth about what Joe did to Caleb and tried to do to Noah is revealed.

Joe and Dawn’s affair

Speaking of Joe Tate, along with his ludicrous kidney theft, he also started an affair with Kim’s stepdaughter Dawn behind her husband Billy’s back.

The pair have not been careful though and during a rendezvous at the cottage, they were caught by Lydia, who in turn reported back to Kim.

Despite Kim warning Dawn off Joe, Dawn has grown increasingly attached to Joe and was devastated when he cleared his room out and left.

If history has taught us anything, it’s that affairs never stay secret in soapland. So we know the truth will likely come out to the wider community, but just when will that be?

Billy viewing Manpreet’s pictures

While his wife got up close and personal with Joe, Billy Fletcher was having his own fun.

Things have been tough for Billy and Dawn, what with their son Evan’s leukaemia diagnosis and the d.e.a.t.h of Dawn’s dad Will.

Feeling disconnected from his wife, Billy took to the internet to get his kicks and happened upon steamy pictures of Manpreet.

When Manpreet shut her account down, Billy was disappointed. But his secret hasn’t been referenced since. Will his lusting over Manpreet come to light?

Tracy stealing

During a special flashback episode, it was revealed to viewers that Tracy had been stealing from Pollard’s shop. Shortly before her d.e.a.t.h, Leyla caught Tracy in the act, but took the secret to her grave.

Though it seemed like £5 or £10 here and there, she soon confessed to Leyla that she’d stolen thousands.

Tracy admitted that she’d been struggling financially since Nate left, as he had not been paying her any child support.

Tracy has continued putting her hand in the till, but it won’t be long until she is finally caught out.

What happened to Nate?

On the subject of Nate, he has quite a good excuse as to why he hasn’t been in touch with his family – he is lying at the bottom of the lake.

Following the limo crash, Amy found herself submerged in the lake, and she came face to face with Nate’s d.e.a.d body. Unfortunately, Amy d.i.e.d before she was able to share the news.

Nate left the village last year, to take up a job in Scotland. But now we know he didn’t make it very far. Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy has shared that the truth will be revealed soon and we can’t wait.

So many questions, why didn’t he leave? Who would want Nate d.e.a.d, and why?

John’s big secret

We don’t know what John is hiding, but we do know he has been shifty since he arrived in the village last year.

Emmerdale has now confirmed that John has indeed been living a lie and has promised that all will be revealed soon.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: “As his clandestine acts are revealed, the audience has an opportunity to really get inside John’s mind and to finally understand exactly what this mysterious character is really about.”

So what exactly has he been hiding, and is he John Sugden at all? We can’t wait to find out.
