Emmerdale fans baffled at major Vinny Dingle injury ‘blunder’ after Tom attack

Emmerdale fans were a bit confused to see Vinny Dingle sporting injuries on his face in the latest episode following a nasty attack from Tom King

Emmerdale viewers were baffled by Vinny Dingle’s nasty looking facial injuries.

Vinny (Bradley Johnson) came a cropper in an episode of the ITV soap earlier this week, when Tom King (James Chase) whacked him on the back of his head with a paperweight. Viewers were desperate to see what happened in Friday’s (April 19) trip to the Dales and were delighted to hear that Vinny was okay and would recover from the attack.

But some were left baffled by the fact that it was his face that was left looking battered and bruised, rather than the back of his head. Several took to X, which was formerly Twitter, to express their confusion over the whole thing.

“How on Earth did that bruise across Vinny’s face happen, I thought Tom clocked him on the back of the head,” one fan pointed out. “The face on Vinny, didn’t think it was that bad,” agreed someone else.

“Vinny gets hit on the back of the head but looks like he got run over by a steamroller,” someone else remarked. “Jeez, there’s more damage done to Vinny’s face than the back of his head,” said another perplexed fan on X, suggesting that he must have fallen “hard” after he was hit by Tom to have ended up with such a bruised face.

Another viewer noted: “That’s a lot of bruising on Vinny’s face when he was hit on the back of the head.” “Glad he’s got extra (glasses) as his main ones would’ve been broken,” they added.

“How come Vinny looks like he’s been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson?” asked someone else. “Was he not hit on the back of his head?!!”

The gripping scenes in the ITV soap saw Tom attack Vinny over him spending time with his wife Belle Dingle (who is played by Eden Taylor-Draper), whose life he has been trying to run as part of a coercive control storyline.
