Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who exposes John Sugden in early ITVX release – and it’s unexpected

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Monday’s (April 14) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) could be set to meet his match in the most unexpected of villagers after one resolved to look into the mysterious disappearance of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
Nate’s whereabouts, as viewers know, is the subject of much speculation, with the farmhand ignoring calls and texts from his loved ones.
Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) reckons the distance is due to his fallout with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) prior to his supposed departure for Shetland.
As fans will recall, Nate was accused of rekindling his affair with Moira (Natalie J Robb). Despite his son’s pleas of innocence, dad Cain refused to believe him, unleashing a frenzied attack on Nate.
Tracy, who had agreed to give Nate another chance at the time, similarly wanted nothing to do with him after the accusation was made.
Having landed a new job at a wind farm in Shetland at the time, Nate made tracks to leave – and was never heard from again.
A shock twist in February confirmed that his body was lying at the bottom of an icy lake and last week flashbacks revealed that John was responsible.
John appears to have a hero complex, orchestrating situations where people’s lives are in danger so that he can come to the rescue and save the day.
The situation with Nate, however, didn’t go as he’d planned, with the farmhand subsequently dying. In a bid to cover his tracks, John disposed of the body in the aforementioned lake.
Speculation has since been rife among fans regarding who will be the first to work out what happened to Nate and bring down John and Monday’s episode, which is available to stream on ITVX now, offered up a potential villager that could play a role in the killer’s downfall.
While John spent much of the intriguing episode trying to cover his tracks regarding the burial of Anthony (Nicholas Day) – whose body he also buried – Tracy was seen contemplating the possibility of tracking down Nate.
Tracy, as fans know, was struggling to make ends meet to support daughter Frankie and thus resorted to stealing from Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
Having got her job back at the shop, Tracy was determined to do everything above board this time, with newfound friend Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) suggesting that she research wind farms in Shetland online in a bid to locate Nate so that he cough up some cash to help her support Frankie.
Will Tracy’s research make her realise that Nate isn’t in Shetland? Will this spark a chain reaction that will ultimately lead to John’s downfall?
