Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox Milligan set to cause bitter rift between father and son duo

EXCLUSIVE: Emmerdale's Ruby Fox Milligan has been getting on the wrong side of almost every villager she's come across in the Yorkshire Dales.

Ruby Fox Milligan (played by Beth Cordingly) made her Emmerdale debut earlier this year as Caleb Milligan’s (Will Ash) estranged wife.

She’s clashed with most members of his family as well as a myriad of other Emmerdale residents with her unapologetic and mean personality, making it almost impossible for people to strike up friendships with her.

However, there is one person in her life who has always stood by her side. That person is her and Caleb’s son Nicky Milligan (played by Lewis Cope).

Nicky and his mother Ruby get along very well, unlike the latter and Caleb who clash over anything and everything.

Ruby actress Beth recently opened up to Express.co.uk about her feisty character and the important relationships in her life. Ruby and Caleb are childhood sweethearts but they cannot seem to let each other go, despite affairs getting in the way.

She’s trying to put his latest affair, with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) behind her, but could she have a revenge plan up her sleeve? Will Ruby find a way to turn Nicky against his father for good?

Beth explained: “She has a gorgeous relationship with Nicky actually. I really love their relationship. They are really close and I love the way Lewis plays it.”

She said she loved how protective Nicky is of Ruby despite all of the “terrible traits” she has.

Beth added: “You know, she’s his mum and he adores her and he defends her.

“And also, what I find quite moving about the way he plays it is, I think he gets it absolutely, right.”

She continued by saying how Nicky has been caught between his parents arguing at points in his life, often “defending” Ruby.

Caleb and Nicky had a huge fallout last year after the latter was forced into marrying Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) as part of his father’s plot to take over Kim Tate’s (Claire King) beloved Home Farm.

They seemed to have moved on after Nicky jilted Gabby on the day of their wedding and explained to her he was gay – but it looks as though Nicky has more respect for his mother.

Perhaps Ruby will find a way to bring up the pain of the past to Nicky and remind him just how evil his father Caleb is in upcoming scenes. Will he then want to cut ties with Caleb altogether?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
