With a shock attack set to air on Emmerdale next week, some viewers immediately questioned who could be to blame.
But a new theory could suggest not all is as it seems on the ITV soap. Fans could not help but share concern and confusion over an apparent assault on Liam Cavanagh that airs next week.
The spoiler details that Mackenzie Boyd finds the doctor unconscious int he village, with a bloody head wound. It’s said that Liam has been attacked by a mystery person with no clues on who.
Fans were stunned by the plot twist though, given Liam has already sustained two other head injuries in recent weeks. Back in February he hit his head during the limo crash and nearly d.i.e.d.
Just weeks ago during a showdown with Ella Forster he slipped and hit his head again. Now, Liam sustains yet another head wound next week spoilers have revealed.
Fans can’t help but suspect there is more to the plot after recent episodes, while it’s yet to be revealed what actually happens to him. Fingers will no doubt be pointed at Ella after her exit – so has she returned to hurt her ex?

What Liam and his partner Chas Dingle don’t yet know is that the recent harassment thought to be conducted by Ella was in fact the work of John Sugden. John meddled with Chas’ p.a.i.n.k.i.l.l.e.r.s causing an overdose, with him soon playing the hero.
He then framed Ella, leading to her arrest, after he tried to cancel Liam and Chas’ wedding, threw a brick through the pub window and harassed the pair. He acted like the supportive future son-in-law for Chas, knowing he had caused her turmoil.
She has no idea that John k.i.l.l.e.d her nephew Nate Robinson with a plot to ‘save him’ leading to his accidental d.e.a.t.h. A similar incident happened last week when he deliberately caused Jacob Gallagher, who has a severe nut allergy, to go into anaphylactic shock so that he could once again save the day.
It seems he has some sort of saviour complex, and he’s hurting people to then be able to bring them back to life. He also gets a kick out of being the hero, as seen with him saving Ruby Miligan and Moira Dingle during the barn fire.
Fans certainly think so with one theory reading: “Ok, I’m going to suggest that Liam isn’t going to been technically injured but he’s going to set up a scene of needing to be rescued to see if John ‘comes to his rescue’ as he’s suspicious of his hero symptoms and is on his radar of needing to be watched.” Another fan said: “John comes to the rescue again – this time to save Liam after MacKenzie finds him ‘attacked’ in the village – is all as it seems?”
