Beyond Paradise’s future ‘sealed’ after season 3 as filming returns to Devon
Beyond Paradise has reportedly been renewed for a fourth instalment ahead of season three's anticipated conclusion
The future of Beyond Paradise appears to be “confirmed” ahead of the season three finale.
The popular crime drama started airing its third season on BBC One last month, with the final episode set to premiere next Friday (May 2).
However, reports suggest that another series could potentially be in the pipeline.
Although the BBC has not officially confirmed a fourth series, TV Zone has reported that filming for another season of the hit crime drama will commence in July.
The publication claims to have seen production listings to support its report.
The Death in Paradise spin-off, which began in 2023, focuses on Kris Marshall’s character, DI Humphrey Goodman, who left Saint Marie to be with his love interest, Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton).
The detective duo is also accompanied by PC Kelby Hartford (Dylan Llewellyn) and office support worker Margo Martins (Felicity Montagu), who add a new dynamic to the police force.
The cast also includes Melina Sinadinou as Zoe Williams, Jamie Bamber as Archie Hughes, and Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd, reports Cornwall Live.
In season three, the team has tackled a range of unusual cases, including a body found in a river, a chocolate box poisoning, a farming feud, and a spiking incident at sea.
Meanwhile, fans have been left concerned after Anne secretly visited the doctor upon noticing a worrying mole on her back.
Humphrey and Martha have also been grappling with their own personal challenges after becoming foster parents for the first time.
Martha star Sally Bretton previously commented on the significance of the narrative, saying: “It was really important the storylines felt right, and we’re a healthy representation of what fostering can be like.”
Kris Marshall added: “The truisms in the script have to be truly representative of people’s actual journey, for people who are actually experiencing this.”
