As John vows to finish Mack – Lawrence Robb’s future in Emmerdale explored
Mack’s nine lives might just be up
As John puts Mack at the top of his hit list, we explore actor Lawrence Robb’s future in Emmerdale.
As we know, John is not one to be crossed, but Mack did just that when he informed best friend Aaron about John’s lies.
With Aaron now having doubts about marrying John, John has promised to put Mack “out of his misery”. But will he go through with his threat?
Mack is in John’s bad books in Emmerdale
John Sugden arrived in the Dales last year and quickly struck up a relationship with Aaron Dingle.
Aaron’s BFF Mackenzie Boyd has always, rightly, been suspicious of the mysterious John, and in Wednesday’s episode he finally got to say I told you so to Aaron.
With Aaron and John’s wedding fast approaching, Victoria wanted to plan a stag do. With John being cagey about his old friends, Victoria took it upon herself to track down his army mates.
She met with Connor, who revealed that Aidan Moore was not dead, but instead he was in a coma in hospital. John had previously gotten emotional as he discussed Aidan’s death and funeral.
Mack happened to bump into Connor, and he too soon learnt about John’s lies. He couldn’t wait to tell Aaron what he had discovered. A move that obviously didn’t go down well with John.
After Aaron told John that he was having “more than second thoughts” about their upcoming nuptials, John was fuming.
He visited Aidan in hospital, where he menacingly said: “You just had to stay alive, didn’t you? There isn’t a moment of any day I don’t wish you were dead. You know, right now, someone else needs putting out of their misery. That’ll be my friend Mack. He’s gonna find out what happens when people push me that little bit too hard.”
With Mack firmly on John’s hit list, is this the end of Mack’s time in Emmerdale?
Is Lawrence Robb leaving Emmerdale?
There has been no announcement regarding a departure for Lawrence Robb, who plays Mack. He joined the show in October 2020 and has been at the centre of many major storylines.
However, with Mack’s life now seemingly at risk, fans have begun to speculate.
One topic of discussion is the flashforward scene, which was shown at the start of the year. In the scene, Mack could be seen running away looking very scared.
This has yet to air, leading fans to now predict that he is running from John. One viewer wrote on X: “I’m now convinced more than ever that this flashforward of Mackenzie is that he’s running from John.”
Another added: “Manifesting that John’s the one chasing Mack in that flashforward and ends up killing him.”
“I’m now convinced more than ever that this flashforward of Mackenzie is that he’s running from John. With his presence all of a sudden in this storyline, it’s not for no reason. They are involving Mack for some reason – could he be John’s next victim?” queried a third.
Some fans have even said John can be redeemed if he does kill Mack. We’re not sure Aaron would agree, though!
So is Mackenzie the next casualty of John Sugden? He’s had almost as many lives as Cain Dingle, but will Mack be meeting his maker before too long?
