DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and partner DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi) tackle another mysterious case in the much anticipated season finale of Beyond Paradise

As Beyond Paradise builds toward its much-anticipated season three finale on May 2, fans are bracing themselves for an edge-of-your-seat conclusion — with many already voicing their reluctance for the show to end. The latest episode has ramped up the suspense, with a brand new case that is set to take a chilling turn.

This week, DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and partner DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi), is tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of nurse Lucy, who vanishes on her way to work. Suspicion initially falls on her boyfriend, Josh Woods, who is also a rival of PC Kelby’s. Yet things quickly take an eerie twist when Josh receives a disturbing voicemail from Lucy.

In the recording, Lucy can be heard shouting “devil,” followed by a beastly growl. This unsettling clue leads the team to wonder if something far more sinister is at play. Could the local legend of the Devil’s Hump provide a vital clue to solving Lucy’s disappearance, or is there something else entirely going on?

This case follows a string of unusual and mysterious incidents that have unfolded throughout the season, including a bizarre poisoning involving chocolate boxes and a terrifying spiking incident at sea. Each new case has kept viewers on the edge of their seats, and this latest twist promises to take the intrigue to a whole new level.

While the investigation intensifies, Humphrey is also dealing with personal matters. With Rosie’s birthday fast approaching, he and Martha are determined to throw her the perfect celebration, but the looming case continues to demand his attention. Will Humphrey be able to balance his professional obligations with his desire to spend time with his family?

In a further tease of what’s to come, the creators of Beyond Paradise shared an ominous image on Instagram: a 20-speed limit road sign, with a devil’s face painted over the 0 in red spray print.

The cryptic image quickly sparked excitement and speculation among fans, with one writing, “Don’t want it to end,” while another echoed, “I am loving this new series.”

A concerned fan also shared: “What are you doing to my girl Esther??” — referring to Esther’s dramatic decision to call off her blossoming romance with the villainous Archie Hughes.

The pair’s relationship had been quietly developing throughout the season, but in the episode that aired on Friday, April 25, Esther made it clear that it was over. Walking up to Archie at his winery, she told him, “I don’t want to do this anymore,” leaving fans eager to see what comes next for her character.

While the BBC has yet to confirm a fourth series officially, TV Zone has reported that Beyond Paradise will begin filming another season in July. The publication claims to have seen production listings that back up this exciting news, offering fans hope that the hit crime drama is far from over.

Beyond Paradise, a spin-off from Death in Paradise, debuted in 2023 and follows Humphrey after he moves to the stunning seaside town of Shipton Abbott to be with his fiancé Martha Lloyd (played by Sally Bretton). Alongside his partner DS Williams, Humphrey tackles a series of strange crimes, each case more peculiar than the last.
