Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Is Season 10 Going To Be The FINAL Season?
Will Sistas Season 10 Be the Final Season? Here’s What I Think
Okay folks, let’s get right to the number one question fans are asking: Season 10 is happening, but will it be the final season of the series? If I had to put all my money on one answer, I’m going to say no — and here’s why.
Recently, I’ve been reading comments on my uploads, and it’s wild how engagement surged the moment I posted that video about Karen possibly losing her baby. It’s like the show — and the fandom — suddenly came back to life. That tells me people still care about this series.
Now, I don’t have insider info. I don’t know a single confirmed plotline beyond a few leaked set photos (like the ones showing Zac and Aaron at the hospital, and Aaron at Karen’s place). But based on what I can piece together, here’s my theory: Season 9 is cleanup duty. Tyler Perry likely returned to the writers’ room to steer the ship back on course. And if that’s true, I doubt it’s because the show is ending soon. If Season 10 were truly the end, I don’t think he’d go through all this effort.
Sure, some might argue he’s just tying up loose ends to end on a high note. But let’s be real: remember how The Haves and the Have Nots ended? That finale was a disaster. OWN kept demanding more episodes, and the show got stretched thin. Random characters were thrown in with no real purpose, and long-time fans felt cheated.
That’s why I believe Season 9 is Tyler’s attempt to repair the damage — especially after the massive drop in quality from Seasons 7 and 8. It’s like putting the puzzle pieces back together. Then, Season 10 can truly be a fresh start. Funny enough, Season 7 was supposed to feel like a relaunch — a new vibe, a new direction — but it didn’t hit the mark. Maybe this time, with Season 9 stabilizing things, Season 10 can finally deliver on that promise.
Let’s also talk timelines: Season 9 premieres this July. My guess? Season 10 won’t air until spring or summer 2026. But since they’re filming in advance, I’m okay with waiting — especially if it means quality is coming back.
So, what will make fans tune back in? Based on the 200+ comments on my Karen baby-loss video, it seems like drama and closure bring people back. If it turns out Zac isn’t tied to Karen through a child anymore, fans may finally get the break from their endless drama they’ve been craving.
Now, let’s be honest: even if BET weren’t in this weird funk and Perry’s other shows weren’t seeing record-low ratings, Sistas Season 8 would still have been a massive drop in quality. Viewership dipped for good reason — the storytelling just wasn’t there.
Going into Season 9, I’m not expecting miracles. But I am curious. The fact that Season 10 is already in production tells me that the network still sees potential. Some people question why Season 10 is being filmed before it’s even officially renewed — but come on. BET is basically the Tyler Perry Network. Whether it’s a hit or not, if he makes it, they air it. Plus, he recently signed a new deal with Viacom, so his seat at the table is secure for now.
All things considered, I don’t think Season 10 is the end. In fact, I think it might just be the beginning of a new chapter. If Season 9 does its job of course-correcting, Season 10 could finally be the Sistas season we’ve all been hoping for.
Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate that Sistas is about to become the first Tyler Perry original series to reach 10 seasons during its initial run? House of Payne hit 10, but only after being rebooted. This is a big deal. Whether you love or hate the show, reaching a 10th season is an accomplishment.
That said, I hope the writing improves. Personally, I wasn’t planning on reviewing Season 9, but now I kinda have to — y’all are demanding it! So here we go again.
Let me know your thoughts below: Are you excited about Season 10? Do you think it’s the end, or a new beginning? What would you love to see — new characters? Flashbacks to college days? Less Gary and Maurice? (Because let’s be honest, some of these characters have overstayed their welcome.)
Anyway, thanks for sticking around. Like and subscribe if you haven’t already, and I’ll catch you in the next video!
