Two devastating cancer ordeals in Emmerdale as Belle drops bombshell on furious Tom

Emmerdale village is being rocked by more cancer trauma in episodes next week, as Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher’s (Olivia Bromley and Jay Kontzle) baby Evan is diagnosed with leukaemia, while Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter_ struggles with her body following her double mastectomy.

The devastating news for parents Dawn and Billy comes after they take their son to hospital and fear they might be accused of neglecting him.

But they are left reeling when the truth of the matter is confirmed. With the couple facing an uphill battle, all Kim Tate (Claire King) and Will (Dean Andrews) can do is helplessly look on.

Meanwhile, Chas is struggling with how her body has changed, but she soon comes to a definitive decision not to let her breasts define her.

She bravely looks upon her scars and stands up for herself after thoughtless comments from Kerry (Laura Norton).

Elsewhere in the village, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is fuming as Ruby Foz-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) spreads rumours after a new feud, while Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker). cheats on Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin).

And in other developments, relieved Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is relieved not to be pregnant – but Tom King (James Chase) is less than happy.

Monday April 29

Ella arranges a few drinks with the ladies of the village to cheer up Manpreet, Claudette has been invited. Mandy and Gail join them and they even get Claudette to agree to an alcoholic drink.

The chemistry between Claudette and Bear is clear whilst Ella notices Manpreet’s fawning over Billy and pulls her away for a chat outside. Tipsy Manpreet admits to having a crush on Billy and Ella warns her not to take it any further.

But later when Manpreet spots Billy leaving she grabs him with both hands and kisses him on the lips.

Tuesday April 30

Billy tells Dawn about Manpreet’s kiss but Dawn other things on her mind.

Ella assures Manpreet that Charles doesn’t need to find out, but thinks Billy needs an explanation. Manpreet apologises to Billy but Charles has overheard.

Furious, he storms out leaving her with the notion their relationship is ruined.

Chas is struggling emotionally with how her body has changed.

With village businesses struggling Jimmy suggests a village fete. Soon Nicola is running away with the idea, pleased to have a distraction.

Wednesday May 1

Dawn spots a new bruise on Evan’s leg and telephones the surgery. Dr Liam immediately recommends taking Evan straight to A&E, where a paediatrician examines him and asks to complete blood tests.

Anxious they will be accused of hurting Evan, his parents are fearful but the paediatrician returns to explain he is very sick. Having seen the blood test results, the paediatrician asks to take an urgent bone marrow biopsy as he has low haemoglobin and platelet levels so more tests are required.

Dawn and Billy see their world imploding and are left reeling.

Tom speaks to an anxious Belle in Emmerdale

Chas wears prostheses to the Woolpack for the first time, receiving solidarity from supportive women. Determined for normality, Charity assures her she doesn’t need them. Kerry’s insensitive comments unleashes Chas’ fury.

Chas refuses to be defined by breasts. Later, as Chas reflects on not being brave enough to face her surgery scars, Charity agrees to look with her and she bravely lifts her top, facing her new reality head-on.

Belle is worried she could be pregnant. Belle takes a test but it is negative – she is relieved but Tom is disappointed.

Moira’s delighted with Isaac taking an interest in the farm until he’s shaken seeing an abandoned lamb.

Thursday May 2

Ruby’s furious when Moira accidentally splashes her while driving Later on a single-track road, meet head on and both Moira and Ruby refuse to back down, causing a tense standoff until Will gets caught up. Later, Caleb insists Ruby apologise, but their feud clearly isn’t over.

Dawn is advised not to feed Evan as he is nil by mouth until he’s had the biopsy – she struggles to soothe him. Billy returns home choked up as he explains it could be an infection, autoimmune disease or even something like Leukaemia.

Will and Kim rush to the hospital but halted when caught up on a lane due to the stalemate road feud between Ruby and Moira. Will finally arrives at the hospital as Evan is ready to be taken for his biopsy. He tries to comfort Dawn.

Friday May 3

Belle takes a test but it is negative she is relieved but Tom is visibly disappointed.

Ruby enjoys starting a vicious rumour about Moira.

The doctor confirms the results of the bone marrow biopsy show Evan has a form of Leukaemia.

Kim and Will watch Dawn buckle from outside the room as their worst fears are confirmed.
