Georgia Jay, who plays Steph Miligan in Emmerdale, has surprised her followers by revealing she has an identical twin sister in real life.
In the latest episodes of the ITV drama, audiences have been gripped by Steph’s storyline as she grapples with the idea of undergoing plastic surgery after a distressing family secret comes to light.
The character is faced with a life-changing dilemma upon discovering she was conceived through sexual abuse, with her grandfather Anthony (portrayed by Nicholas Day) being unmasked as both her mother’s assailant and her biological father.
Haunted by the revelation, Steph struggles with seeing Anthony’s likeness in herself and has kept this burden from her parents, Ruby (played by Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (William Ash).
In a recent turn of events, Steph attempted to arrange a nose job and later planned a brow lift, which led to a violent confrontation with her partner, Ross Barton (Mike Parr), reports Leicestershire Live.
Georgia Jay joined the cast of Emmerdale towards the end of last year, captivating viewers with her compelling performance as the troubled Steph.
On her role in the soap, the 32 year old actress said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. The cast and crew have all been so welcoming, and I’m very excited to see what lies ahead for Steph, given her intriguing backstory.”
Beyond the world of Emmerdale, Georgia boasts acting credits in shows such as Silent Witness, Giri/Haji, Glow and Darkness, and Charity.
Fans were recently taken aback when the actress shared a collection of beautiful photos with her twin sister on social media.
Posting a series of monochrome snapshots on Instagram, she accompanied the stylish pics with the caption: “Double Take… #Twinning @olgalioncat.”
One admirer was quick to admire in the comments section, gushing: “Omg you are a twin. How beautiful are you both. Gorgeous piccies xxx”, to which Georgia excitedly revealed: “I ammm.”
Another fan expressed their admiration by commenting: “Wow! You are both so pretty! Love you on Emmerdale BTW” and yet another contributed with an enthusiastic: “Double gorgeousness!”.
