Emmerdale ‘confirms’ Dawn’s next love interest in Dales after Joe but fans are livid
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they know who Dawn Taylor's next lover will be after her explosive confession - and fans are not happy
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they’ve figured out who Dawn Taylor’s next romantic interest will be.
Dawn, portrayed by Olivia Bromley, has been a mainstay on the ITV soap since her debut in 2018, quickly becoming embroiled in numerous significant plotlines and events.
From battling drug addiction to dealing with her son Evan’s unexpected leukaemia diagnosis, Dawn’s journey in the Dales has been anything but dull. Particularly this year, when she surprised viewers by embarking on an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
At that point, she was mourning the loss of her father Will (Dean Andrews), who passed away at Christmas, while also grappling with Evan’s shocking health news.
In search of an escape, she ended up betraying her husband Billy (Jay Kontzle) with Joe under their shared roof – and despite claiming it was a one-time thing, the pair have since fallen for each other, reports Leicestershire Live.
Eventually, Dawn called time on her relationship with Billy, leaving him devastated and puzzled about the sudden end. However, last week saw a dramatic twist in the tale.
Joe’s deceptions were laid bare for all to see during a party at Home Farm, leading to him being ostracised by everyone and ultimately pushed out of a window by an unknown individual.
It was subsequently revealed that Joe had slipped into a coma following a brain haemorrhage. A number of villagers have now emerged as potential culprits, including Billy, who was taken into custody in Monday’s episode (May 13).
Billy’s freedom was secured when Dawn stepped up with an alibi, asserting they were in bed together during the time Joe was shoved. In a twist that left viewers reeling, Dawn later admitted to Billy it was her who gave Joe the push.
Speculation is now rife among the Emmerdale faithful about Dawn’s romantic future, and a flurry of disgruntled fans are predicting she’ll reignite an old flame with Billy.
One fan speculated on an Emmerdale enthusiast group on Facebook, “Billy and Dawn are def getting back together aren’t they?” Another chimed in, adding, “Most likely, now she gave him an alibi. I really hope not, he deserves someone much better.”
Echoing similar sentiments, a third fan remarked, “I’ve said from the start that they will end up getting back together, can’t stand Dawn!”.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
